Staying around after checkout

On check out day, our plane doesn't leave until 8 p.m. but we don't plan on visiting any parks that day. Can we enjoy the hotel until time to go? i.e., swiming, etc.? This sounds silly, but I have looked for DAYS and can't find any definitive info.

Yes you can..you'll just have to check out and keep your bags in storage until you are ready to leave for the airport. If you've been swimming and you're at a deluxe you can use the gym shower to clean up and change before you go.

It can be a pain to keep getting stuff out of your locked-up suitcases so keep a "carry-on" with you all day with important things.

Yes. On check out day you are welcome to use all the amenities at the resort until midnight. Except for your room!!

I am not 100% sure on what the "official" answer is on this, but we have done that on each of our trips. We usually try to schedule a flight out around 6:00-7:00pm which gives us the morning by the pool, time for some last minute shopping at the resort, and a final farewell lunch before we head off to the airport. I know in out experience the Bell Service has always been more than happy to hold the luggage until late afternoon so I don't see why it would be an issue.

Absolutely!!! You are a resort guest until Pleasure Island closes at 2am the next morning!!

We usually take the latest flight home as possible and spend our last day either at the parks or at Downtown Disney, or go resort hopping at other resorts.

Also when we drive to WDW, we usually check out a day early, stay at the parks and hotels till pretty late, then drive about an hour North to Ocala.

I have also on solo trips scheduled a flight for 5:30 am the next morning and still checked out a day early. I sleep as late as possible, then drop my luggage, then spend the afternoon and evening at the Parks and PI. I then grab one bag out of storage, take a quick shower at the pool bath house (at All-Star, or at the comfort station at Ft. Wilderness), then got the rest of my luggage and my ride back to the airport at 2:30 am for my flight. I slept on the bus and on the plane.

Wow, what fast responses. I should have asked here first and saved myself days of searching!
We are staying at AKL and will have a rental car, so we can pack our van up on checkout morning. I was planning on keeping a 'bag' of swim stuff and other incidentals we might need.

One more question. We are staying concierge. Will we be allowed back in the concierge room after checkout?

May I hijack this thread for a quick question?

My son and I have a late flight on our check out day, too. I plan on going to the parks that day and then using ME to the airport. I am a "hands free" kind of touring person and I don't want to have to take my carry-on bag or my purse with me to the parks. Of course, I will carry my cash, driver's license and credit cards on me, but can I have them store my carry-on bag - with my purse in it, separate from the checked luggage ME will take to the airport?

If you want to have access to your room a little longer on check out day, you can request a "late Check out ".

Yes, bell services will store your carry on luggage for you until you return to the resort for ME.

Just a quick reminder, be careful of what you leave in your van we had ours broken into when we did exactly the same thing. Yes, you can use concierge the day of check out as well.

Yes you can. My family headed to DTD and spent the afternoon there shopping, exploring and of course eating. It was a nice end to the trip.
