I thought it would be helpful to recap what this challenge is about from our first week:

. . . a one month challenge to begin July 5, the day after the 4th of July Challenge ends. We can post weekly or daily for those that need that type of support, like me!

Since this is primarily a war of mind versus body I thought we could rank ourselves and our progress military style. Everyone that joins this challenge can start off as a Private, get through the first week scale free and you can advance to the rank of a Corporal; get through the second week weigh free and you'll be promoted to Sergeant; third week weigh free and you're a Lieutenant; for those that make it to 4 weeks without weighing you'll be a Colonel!

Okay all you Privates out there, it's time to step up and be recognized! Please post to this week's thread so you can be promoted to the rank of Corporal and to have your name listed in royal blue. I know we have at least one new Private joining us so welcome to neverlandclub!!!!!

Melissa - your challenge will end August 10 and you can weigh in on August 11. Again, we welcome you!!!!

I made it through the first week! I can honestly say that it's getting a bit easier. I don't feel the compulsion I used to have every morning to hop on the scale anymore. Don't get me wrong, I do want to know to the pound what I weigh but I don't feel so controlled by the scale anymore. Yay!!!! So I'm ready to be promoted!

Corporal Zeraspride ready to report for week two of our challenge!!! Who's with me?

Question of the Day: What will you do to celebrate reaching your ultimate weight goal?

I'm with you ~ Corporal Minniespal has made it through another week. For the most part it has been fine. I have had a few days when I have been really hungry, including today but that will happen on any plan.

Here's to another fab week for everyone.

Corporal DoeWDW reporting in! I made it through the first week!

I hadn't thought about celebrating staying off the scale for a month....will have to come up with something. :D

Best wishes to all for another week scale-free!!

Corporal Strings reporting in. I've been too busy/tired to even think about the scale.

Corporal catherine reporting for duty!! I made it through the first week without weighing myself. :hyper: #

I haven't thought about what I am going to do to celebrate, but I'm sure with a bit of thought that I can come up with something! ::yes::

I am back from vacation - of course had no urge to weigh myself on vacation - so week one easy! returned home on Saturday afternoon - still no urge to weigh myself - yesterday thou - I slipped - I didn't mean to I just stepped on the scale and before I realized what I did I saw the weight - so I am back to Private:( - I will continue to try to stay "scale free" throughout the reminder of the challenge!

You guys are doing so well! I just need to know if I gained loss or stayed the same on vacation! But I can tell you I did lose 2 inches off my waist at WDW! would tell you guys if I loss or gained but this is a NO SCALE thing and mentioning weight I feel is not right!

I am glad to be back

Sue:D

Corporal Jean checking in. It was tough to avoid knowing "the number" at first, but now I just glance at it briefly sitting in the bathroom closet and think I'd rather see what the number is at the end of the challenge...;)
Keep up the good work everyone!

What a great job everyone has done! I'll go back to the top of the thread and promote everyone that made it.

Sue - we're glad to have you back and hope you had a wonderful trip! I'm sure you'll be a Corporal next week!

When I asked the question about celebrating goal, I had more in mind when you reach your ultimate goal weight, not when this challenge is over. I'll go back and edit the question so it's clearer.

I've been thinking it through and when I hit my goal weight, I want to travel to South Carolina to the Firm work out studio and exercise with the ladies that have made losing all this weight possible. I know I did the actual work but if wasn't for finding the Firm and loving it, I know I couldn't be this successful.

Private Melissa signing in. My challenge begins today and so far I have avoided the dreaded enemy scale. I will need lots of help as I am also beginning Phase 1 again to pay for my diet misdeeds during my vacation.

To celebrate I hope to be able to fit into my size 5 pants by the end of my challenge. I plan to only try on my pants and not weigh in.

Melissa - you can do it! Just ignore that evil scale and know we are all here cheering you on and trying to be strong too! Phase 1 isn't so bad and you'll get back to where you want to be in no time!

Corporal Hollyann reporting in! I made it the week! This has been a fun and empowering challenge! I've also (just) joined the labor day challenge, and asked that they use my weight from when 7/4 as I'm not going to weigh myself between that day and 8/4! Hopefully, they'll take me in! I have a doc's appt. on 7/14 and I'll close my eyes on the scale and not let them tell me what it is!

Good Luck everyone!

Corporal Sm4987 is reporting in. I have stayed off the scale for a week. Jumping up here. Hey Lisa I want my name in blue::yes::

You know before I would have celebrated by eating, but since that's how I got here, I don't know. Probably a new outfit with out a care for how much it costs.

Hollyann - I'll move up the ranks! Great job! I'm so impressed with your dedication not to weigh yourself! Congrats on joining the labor day challenge. I should have thought about doing it the way you mentioned and siging up myself. I'll think about it.

Sheree - I will make sure to change your ranking! What a great job you've done this past week. Like you, in the past, I would have celebrated by eating something. Now as much as I like food, I don't look at it as a "reward". I feel like I've come a long way to be able to say that!

THanks Lisa. I feel good, and I know that we all can make it. I signed up for the Labor Day challenge too. I figure the weighin can wait till this challenge is over. I set my goal at 10 pounds, who knows, maybe after this challenge, I will be there or already close to it.

Week 1 was a success for Private GoofItUp! Went to the gym at lunch again today and was able to resist the temptation. Everyone is doing so well....good job!

GoofItUp - welcome to ranks of Corporal! Good job with resisting the scale at the gym!

Sheree - I think I may join you and HollyAnn for the labor day challenge. I can start out with my weight from the July 4th challenge and take it from there. I'll have to get over to that thread and read up on it. Hopefully, we will all go from one successful challenge to another! I might set my goal at 10 pound as well. That would put me 5 pounds from onderland!

Okay.... I bit it hard Saturday. I weighed....DH was supposed to look and just let me know if I gained....he then told me I sucked and then told me I lost 2 pounds. So I'm not even stepping on the thing again :D

Corporal Hannosmom reporting in! No weigh in for me!!! AND...I even went to the doctor last week. I shut my eyes while the nurse weighed me in, after I explained to her about our challenge. :D She had to steady me a little.....did you know you get a little woogedy on the scale when you have your eyes closed?!?:p

I explained to the doc about our challenge and all I asked her to tell me was....did I lose from last time? And I did, so at least I know I am going in the right direction!:Pinkbounc

Okay this Private is reporting for duty. Letting everyone know "I did good". Didn't weigh on no stinking scales. So there!!!
I am celebrating by having my first dessert in 2 weeks. A weight watchers fudge bar! Only one. I am stopping at one!!
This is fun!! By the way my darling husband lost 8 pounds on our new program :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm so happy for him.
You guys are great. Keep your chins up!

July:wave:
