This will be our first trip to Universal and we are looking forward to staying onsite and also doing HHN. I would love to take advantage of the awesome Stay More, Save More rates but the last day for those is October 7. I was thinking we could stay October 1 - October 8, don't the dates for HHN usually start by the first weekend in October (which in 2010 is October 1-3) ? Is this a good bet to make or should I wait and see what the actual dates are? The rates are just so cheap comparatively.

thats the same time period we are going and historically HHN has been going on it usually starts around the last weekend in september - we were going to do HRH got it for 140 a night but are opting for doubletree instead for 80 - i really didnt want to stay 5 nights since my daughter will be a junior and didnt want to take her out of school that long - plus we will be coming back in december for another long weekend - so now we are just coming down oct 1 and leaving oct 4 and it is costing 300 at doubletree - i have an AP so i will just buy my daughters park tickets and our HHN tickets upon arrival

The last weekend of September is when HHN starts...usually. I don't expect it change this year. This year...opening weekend should be 9/24 & 9/25 with 9/30, 10/1 & 10/2 the first full weekend. You would definately be going at a good time especially if you have an annual pass. The first full weekend offers really good AP discounts on tickets and there's usually an AP party that weekend. :thumbsup2

I booked Oct.1st-8th for $125.00 per night at the RPR, and this rate is still available as of today.

Thanks for the help, we went ahead and booked at RPR for Oct. 1-8 too at $142/night--water view. Figured we might as well have a view since we were saving so much.

i booked last year for Oct 6-13th (AAA) and missing out on the promo rate.

:headache:

i'm half way tempted to change my date to the 5th so i can get 3 nights on that low rate at rph.

i always prefer the columbus day time period for hhn.
4 nights in a row.....:goodvibes

Wow ... that's an excellent rate. For that price we'd gladly stay on-site at Universal ... what promo were you using? Did you call or enter the promo code online?

It is the stay more save more rate, I would rather go a little later in the month but could not pass up that rate. Plus I hope they have the special HHN ticket prices like last year,I belive the first 2 weekends a ffp was good
on FRi and Sat nights, could be wrong though, I just know it was a good deal.

btw I made the ressie on the Universal web site.

You don't need a code, that's the rate for everyone during that time if you stay long enough. The promotion is "Stay more, save more", so the more days you stay, the lower the rate (to a point, obviously).

For our dates the lowest I can get is $197/night-$224/might (AP rate) and $219/night-$269/night which is the Stay more rate. We'd look at staying from Oct 6th to the 11th

the AAA discounted rate is lower than the APH rate.
i booked with aaa because of that.

but, there are times that the aph rate will drop before your reservation.
you can always modify the rate change once you book.

Thats when we used to go ,but when they moved the Weds. night deeper into the month we moved with it. Hopefully they will have the same discounts
this year as last year for the 1st 3 weekends ($30 for Fri and $40 for Sat aph). Actually they should have HHN Thurs(30th)-Sun(3rd) have to wait and see though. And if so, I will change to arriving Thurs.

i'm with you tricky.
another reason why i always book the same time period each year for hhn.

i am so glad that 3 years ago they added the thursday night to the hhn dates during my time period.
