Are there any other Stay at Home Dads out there that play VMK?

Yup, the way to be this summer!! Men's Rights!!!
In stead of Soaps I do VMK. Less tears, strike that...
(well actually not lately with all this ban stuff)

Come on men rise up and burn your ... uh... no cant say that... uh ... no not that either... uh
Burn your ties (multi layerd pun like illiteration, much better)

Dads Revolt. Those Moms were lucky enough to enjoy the joys of child birth. Something we were robbed of (few...). I mean really, taking the pictures and being supportive was hard, uh here comes my wife, I will leave it there :)

What did you have in mind big guy?

Not yet... But I am Working on it. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So Schnerk what does a typical day for you consist of?

Any tips? Trade recipes?

I found this fabulous fabric softner, and oh anyway I digress.

:)

LOL!

I am lucky. In Austin there is a great SAHD group. There are over 100 of us and we do playdates and stuff for the kids. Once a month we do a Dad's night out, where we go eat Hot Wings Drink Beer and let loose... Honestly, if it were'nt for the group, my "job" would be much harder.

Myt dayly schedule goes something like this...

5:30 - My oldest (2 Year old) comes in and wakes us up. I turn on Dora and try to go back to sleep
6:00 - the 1 year old wakes up. No denying it now, the day has begun. I take the girls downstairs while my wife gets ready for work. I make eggs and stuff for breakfast.
7:00 - Wife leaves for work. The girls go from princess: to :furious: ... WE try to color or watch Sesame Street, but normally end up digging out every toy we own in an attempt to find the perfect one.
8:30 - Naptime for the 1 year old. I generally bring the 2 year old into our bedroom and put on a Disney movie while I shower. She loves her Princess sing-a-long songs.
10:00 - We head to the park or on our list of errands. Is it bad when I look forward to running to Target?
12:00 - Lunch... What did people do before peanut butter and Jelly?
1:00 - The best time of the day... NAPS!!! The 2 year old is cutting out her nap, but I still make her lay in her bed and "read" for aty least an hour. It's VMK time!!! Oh, wait, I mean laundry time... ;)
2:30 - Craziness begins again. Snack time for the girls, cram time for me. How do I fit a whole days worth of chores into 3 hours? I put on the web radio Disney music in the playroom and start to try to re-assemble the house.
5:00 - Wife gets home. We have dinner, and then go swimming or to the gym. The free child care at our gym is a great motivator to get in shape :)
7:00 - Bath time
7:30 - Singing storys and bed
9:00- Wife goes to sleep, and I play VMK until close!!! :surfweb:

Overall, it's not a bad life. Crazy? Yes. Bad? no.

How does this compare to other at home schedules?

Our days are way too similar.

Scarry. It's like GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh bedtime

"Did you get anything done today?", she says

"No not really" lol

I know what you mean about the Gym. Another bonus, we just moved to a town where there is a Starbucks right next to the park!!!!!!!!!!! SO THE BONUS! :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

It's been an adventure, but my turn is almost up. Wife and I traded after she stayed home for the first 3 years. Totally enjoy it man, it goes by toooooo fast.

Oh no not another one of these threads.... :sad2: ;)

Man, I wish there was a Starbucks next to any of our parks...

Or better yet, a Sports Bar! Yeah! That's it!

Schnerk, your daily schedule made me smile. Sounds so much like how mine used to be with my boys were little (sigh). As crazy as it sounds, I really miss those days. Enjoy them while you can!! :goodvibes

It's funny you mention that last bit.

I took my son to the bar once, on the Disney Magic, up the stack in the ESPN Sportzone. We sat right at the bar watching a Red Sox/Yankee game somewhere in the Caribbean. It was awesome. He was 4 I think. Made his day, he talks about it all the time.

BUT at the playground when he tells everyone, all the Mom's start to grab thier kids. :) They just don't understand

Thank Einstein they invented Hooters. Somehow that is acceptable..... Wish they had a Dad's Discount Early Bird Breakfast Special. Or a Hoot Playland...

lol
