Stateroom Sizes

I am trying to compare room sizes and find it difficult because DCL lumps the size of the verandah with the size of the actual room.

Am I correct that a Dream/Fantasy Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah is 204 sq ft, plus another 42 sq ft for the verandah? And that if we had gone Deluxe FAMILY Oceanview with Verandah it would have given us another 53 sq ft in the room, but the same size verandah?

Does anyone know how the room vs verandah size break down in these 2 staterooms (Oceanview with Verandah vs Family Oceanview with Verandah) on the Magic/Wonder?

Thanks so much.

family oceanview with verandah from what i'm understanding differes in that it has a little extra space right before the verandah for a murphy bed to fold down from the wall. I don't know if that would equate to an extra 53sq ft though

unless the verandahs are different sizes, it must be, because that's the difference. 299 total for family less 246 for non-family is 53. Looks like the difference on Magic/Wonder is only 36 sq feet, but it's the breakdown between the room and verandah that I need. Thanks!

On the Dream and Fantasy, the family veranda's cabins are approx 241 sq ft with 58 sq ft of veranda for a total of 299 sq ft. The non family veranda would be approx 188 sq ft with 58 sq ft of veranda for a total of 246 sq ft. Just remember the exception to this is deck 5. They list those as "family" but include the extra veranda space in the total, so the room is only 188 sq ft.

I do not know about the classic ships.

Yea it must be. Ive been researching the difference myself in preperation for 2017 bookings.
