Stateroom 9556 - with verandah

I know when we were looking to book this room, I looked for reviews on this board concerning this room and couldn't find anything, so I thought I would post my review. The room is considered a category 5A, it is really nice but a little tighter than some of the other rooms we have had in the past. This is also the first time on deck 9. The pool and the Cabana is on deck 11 so it is close them. Yes, we could hear everything, since this is a midship room (I can't speak for forward or aft rooms). In the past we were on deck 5 and 6 so being this high up, I felt I could feel the ship rocking a little more when sitting in the room at night. So with that being said, I will give you my opinion of the pros and cons of staying in a room on deck 9 compared to staying in a room on deck 5 and 6.

Pros:
-close to the pool area
-easily can walk up or down 2 flights of stairs
(if you can't catch the busy elevators-which seemed
it happened all the time)

Cons:
-far a way from the guest services, dining rooms,
gift shops, atrium, movie theatre, etc.. (these are on deck 2 and 3)
-it is really hard to catch an elevator when the ship is packed
(we found ourselves walking up 6 flights of stairs two or three
times a day with a toddler and sometimes a stroller, unless we wanted to
wait forever for an elevator ).
-you could feel the ship rocking a little bit more than the lower decks.
-you could hear noise from deck 11 compared to the lower decks.

Thank you for posting this! We are booked in that room for an upcoming cruise. Do you recall whether the room has the pull down bunk from the ceiling? There are only 3 of us in the room but my kid LOVES the bunk and I am have found mixed descriptions.
