Has anyone, by any chance, had this stateroom? We've never cruised before, just want everything to be perfect. I see it's very close to the aft of the ship. Is there a problem with the staterooms at the aft end being more noisy?

Thanks!!!

:teeth:

We've stayed in 7624, right next door. The room was great. No noise to speak of, close to the aft stairs/elevators and the no-longer-secret deck on the aft end of deck 7.

I was on 7624 on the MAGIC (and will be again in March). The ships are pretty much the same so I think the experience will be the same.

We didnt' find it loud at all. Actually, I don't recall hearing any noise at all. We loved the location aft! You'll have a blast.

One quick followup question: how was the view from your veranda? I've started finding threads about 'obstructed view verandas', and it has made me just a little bit nervous.

Thanks again!!

There are 4 "obstructed verandah" cabins, 2 on deck 6 & 2 on deck 7. They were classified as cat 6 cabins but have been reclassified as cat 7 (nvaigator's verandah).

They are plexiglass verandah cabins with a blocked view in the upper half. You'd really have to look at the pictures to understand. It's part of the shape of the ship.

Look here - www.disneycruiser.com there are pictures of the navigators verandahs, metal verandahs, plexiglass & obstructed verandahs. You have a navigators booked. It's more obstructed than the obstructed ones, but they were designed that way!

shmoogrrrl,

Our stay in 7624 was on the Magic, too. Last December. Like you, I figured the layouts were the same, so the experience would be the same.

JonHM,

The view was what I'd call "partially obstucted." Instead of the verandah being fully open-air, it's mostly enclosed, with about a 6-foot, open-air porthole. I thought you could still see fine. Opinions on this vary greatly, though. For the price, I prefer the category 7 rooms. I think the savings offsets the difference between Navigator's verandahs and standard verandahs.

Regarding the obstructed-view verandahs, that is a bit of a mis-nomer in my opinion. Especially now that they have been re-classified as category 7 rooms. The rooms #'s are 6134, 6634, 7120 and 7620. If you can get one of these at the category 7 price, I'd do it. The view in these rooms is better than the "standard" navigator's verandahs.

In the end, I would not worry too much about it. The room you're currently booked in is just fine.

The view is great! We Adore the Navigator's Verandah and think that the balcony is wonderful. You'll have a blast!
