Starwars Fireworks

Hi all,

So just when I thought I had my plans set and I was completely happy with them, Disney changes things up, lol. They just added the Starwars fireworks to the week that I'm in Disney. This is my two boys first trip and my older guy, 7, is most excited about battling Darth Vader, so I planned a whole day in DHS. Of course, the fireworks aren't available for the night that we are there. They are being offered on my two MK days. I'm not sure if I should just skip it and say what they don't know won't hurt. I do have early mornings planned for my trip, since they are early birds, so they will be pretty tired by 6:45. Or should I leave MK early one day and hop over to DHS. Is it worth cutting an MK day and If I did this, how early would I have to leave MK for a 6:45 firework viewing (I don't really care about prime viewing spots, my kids have no patience)? Also, how long do the fireworks last?

There aren't many fireworks in the show. Seeing the screens is more important. The show lasts about 10 to 15 minutes.

If you are having a great time at MK, I would not leave just for the show.

Symphony in the Stars had many more fireworks and I preferred that show.

If both of your boys are HUGE Star Wars fans, they will love this show. Personally, if you see Wishes once in MK, that would be enough for me. If I had a choice to see Wishes once, and then go and see another nighttime show, I would definitely hop. You will have to judge how much your family wants to see the Star Wars Fireworks though. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I find myself being more of a person that just wants to see shows overall before going on rides.

If you want to leave MK early for this show, I would leave by 5:00 p.m. When you get to DHS, I would find a spot in the Chinese Theater area. Maybe once you get to the end of the street. You want to have a view of the Chinese Theater, but not having the building block your view to the right, because that is where the fireworks will be shot off. If you just find a spot on the street with a view of the Chinese Theater, there have been a lot of complaints that people can't see the fireworks. The show is really spectacular the closer you can get to the Chinese Theater Hub. Another option would be if finances aren't an issue, you can always book the Star Wars Fireworks Dessert Party. The Dessert Party opens up an hour before the show. The location is a great view, but if you get there late, you might have a couple trees in the way.

I just checked the official site. there is a time listed for every nigt through april.. but none listed for may at all

too funny! and while you were both typing, I was checking the official site.. again. (sometimes it's difficult to maneuver)

we'll be in WDW end of april, beg. of may. tomorrow is my day to make FP, so heavy duty planning today!

doing a split stay. 2 resortsFP 60 days out based on AP vouchers. I'm hoping I can make FP for the entire stay, not just the first half of the trip. we'll see tomorrow morning!
