Starting to get nervous

All the chat about free dining or deals not being needed during "off season's" is making me nervous.

I have been planning for 3years now to go LAST summer (last week of August). Things came up and we didn't go last year, so we are commited to go this year.

Problem is I'm a limited budget so I know I need off season, and in order to eat the way we'd like I need the meal plan...but I know we can't afford to pay for it.

I know we can go and live off QS and pack snacks...but especially for DH to convince him of this trip he wants to eat like we did the first trip. For myself I like that with Dining I can actually relax and take a vacation as well. I'm not worrying about the money or the meals or making sure I packed enough snacks.

Do you think they'd still offer something like the S/P/D in August? It was a little more than the FD added to, but not terrible...or do you think the rumors are right and they'll just leave things be?

Lol I'm a working mom of three and some days the only thing that has me going is the dream to take this vacation again.

They'll definitely have some sort of promotion going on -- room discounts or free dining. I don't think you have to worry about that..

The bounce back offers were in both of my rooms two weeks ago when we were there. If you spend too much time on the boards all the speculation will drive you crazy. There's really no reason to think they won't have free dining in August/Sept, but nothing is ever a given.

I just wanted to tell you that although ddp is nice, there is something to be said about just doing qs. We had free qsdp last June and it was the most relaxing vacation we had ever had. My kids loved being able to do more rides and shows than to be at ts restaurants. We still saw and got pics with all the princesses , too. Not having to rush to adrs or eat when you aren't really hungry ( especially in the hot weather) was a relief. Now we just don't want to have a ts everyday when we go again. We ate ate a lot of variety of foods, too, not just burgers and fries.
Anyway, if you don't get free ddp or s/p/d you may find it is just a different kind of trip but just as fun. We plan on going back next summer and are hoping for free dining again but if we just have qs that will be fine. I just hope to get some kind of discount.
