Starting to get frustrated with DDE :rolleyes1

I have tried to call the DDE phone number twice this morning and have gotten a recording both times that my call cannot be completed at this time. My Disney Visa was charged on April 11 and still no DDE card has arrived. We leave home on May 31 for our trip June 1-10. Starting to wonder if this is more hassle than it is worth. If they cannot handle the volume of AP holders ordering the DDE, they should stop advertising like crazy!

UGH!!!!!

when you get the recording try the other option....(ie when they say 1 for what you want and 2 for something else try the 2)..when I called to renew that is what I did and I got someone right away.

I spoke with Brent at DDE. I told him that I ordered my DDE in the middle of March and that my CC was charged on April 11. He said that once my CC was charged this meant that my request was being processed. Anyway, this actually means that my information has been sent to Pennsylvania for the cards to be printed. He said I should receive them within 2 weeks. Well, I hope so since I leave home on May 31. Cross your fingers. Hope this information helps others too! :earsgirl:

Thanks for the post. My card was charged at the end of April and still no card. We are going next week. So I guess we will be going by Epcot to pick the letter at GR since we did not receive the email letter. It also seems that no one has posted receiving their DDE for awhile on the boards. It seems several people will post at one time about receiving their DDE in the mail so I guess they do batch them out. I imagine we will see a flurry of posts with people stating, "I got my DDE today!" As so many of us are watching for them. Please anyone post as soon as you receive your DDE in the mail. Thanks!

This sounds like me. I ordered on March 17th, they charged my card on April 12th. I called last week and they told me it was on it's way to PA for processing. I leave in 14 days. It's very frustrating that it's taking this long!

I ordered Amex TravelCards and I got those in 5 days!

Not sure if this helps ease your pains, but if you received a confirmation letter in the mail about your DDE, the CM I spoke with said that you can use that when you visit the parks. Not as easy as a plastic card to carry, but it will work just the same.

:earsboy:

Not sure if this will ease anyone's mind or not, but I ordered my card the first week of March. My credit card was charged the first week of April and I received my card last week. It took a little over 8 weeks for me to receive my card.

But if your card does not arrive in time, there are other options -- bring the letter you should have received when you first ordered the card with you or stop in Epcot and pick up a temp card. You will not be left high and dry without a discount. :flower:

I ordered my DDE card on 4/1 and my credit card was charged on 4/25. Still no card (or course). Why do you suppose that it took 24 days for them to charge my credit card? Why wan't it processed on the same day?

I bet that someone with expertise in this area could go in to the DDE office and reorgainze them and straighten out the delay problem once and for all in a couple of hours.

I have to admit my Cranky Pants are being put on each day I see no DDE in our mail! :rotfl:
Sounds like many of us will get our cards all at once. I am just a few days away from a 2 month wait, and my impatience is growing.
This long wait is getting ridiculous, letter or no letter. :sad2:

This is me too. And sorry if I sound selfish, this program was so much better when just Florida Residents were included. :rotfl2: For goodness sakes this was a RENEWAL (I believe you are in the same boat Luv2Roam). And since I am in a whiney mood now, I'd also like to add that I miss my monthly DDE newsletter. :sad2:

my thoughts exactly....mine was just a renewal too!!

I don't understand all the fuss, when we ordered ours last week, we were told it would be 4 to 6 weeks before we get the actual card but that we could simply show our letter and get the same discount. what's the diff between showing your card or showing a letter? :confused3

On a vacation bad enough to carry the letter.
Now when we are in the park every weekend, and hauling a letter around, it does not take long for it to look tattered. And with the card there were no questions. I noticed showing the letter last weekend was like sending up a red flag of alarm (compared to the normal card). I think some servers are not familar with the card. And give them a letter....
What is bothering me is the LENGTH of time involved in this. Two months is too long, IMHO.
I feel like by the time we get our cards it will be time to renew again. :sad2:
I think since it does take so long to receive cards that paper ones should be issued, in place of the letters.
Last year when I first joined, I think it took a week to get my cards, and I was expecting a lot longer.
4 - 6 weeks is either a fluke, or a lie.
If it was 4 weeks, I would have received the card a month ago. It took a month just to be charged for the expense.

Also...my letter is expired and I don't have any cards yet, but I still have time before we leave.

Yes, at least when I contact DDE/Rosa, it is by e-mail or a local call.
Most are having to call long distance and experiencing difficulties getting through.
Part of my frustration also lies in the fact of our Halloween night MNSSHP tickets being lost in the Disney "it's in the mail" loop. :headache:
The DDE office has been VERY nice. And I feel for them. But it does get to a point where a new system needs to be in place.
They seem to be getting farther behind as the year progresses.

Well, I put my cranky pants on good and tight :rotfl: and e-mailed guest communications. (About the delay in DDE, the holiday black out dates, and the non-issued/non-mailed MNSSHP tickets problem I am having too.)
I am wondering how far beyond the DDE office that any other part of Disney knows (or cares) about the DDE card delay. It might be if enough guests squawk the DDE office will at least get some temporary help!
And now that I have complained to Disney my DDE cards ARE sure to arrive tomorrow! :rotfl: :goodvibes

When I hit the 8 week mark, my cranky pants are going on and I'm calling DDE. I called mid April to have a letter mailed to my home for June, just in case. No letter. I called again (long, long waits too) and they said they wouldn't send a letter as I'd have the cards by 8 weeks. They have 3 days :rotfl:

I ordered Our DDE card on March 15th. My Credit Card was charged on April 11th. My e-mail expires at the end of this month. I am leaving on the 26th although our vacation does not start till the 31st I will not be here to get it if it comes. It has been 8 weeks since I ordered it and a little more than 4 weeks since my card was charged and I leave 2 weeks from today.
I never recieved a letter in the mail only an e-mail. Should I call to have another letter sent? I will be arriving at Disney after my letter expires.

I would and I am if they aren't here before our trip. My email expires the end of May.

I believe there is some "rule" too that items have to be delivered by 30 days after a charge. I'm not 100% sure about this, but pretty sure.

I am not going to Epcot to pick up a temp letter especially since my "time has been ticking" on my yearly membership. I can't get to Epcot before our first meal when we are there either (7:30 am at Boma). We arrive late and Epcot will be closed by the time we get to AKL. If I had a car, it would be a different story, but we aren't renting a car although we'd still miss that breakfast using the discount. I called and ordered mine back in March so I would have them. I'll miss out on time at Star Wars Weekends by trucking over to Epcot too.
