Ok, so I started to exercise to lose 25 pounds by Thanksgiving. I eat about 1200 calories a day so with diet and exercise, I am hoping for success. I bought a new pair of running shoes that are hurting the back of my heels. Any suggestions?

Also, any tips are welcome, most of my workouts are on a treadmill.

I would start with going to a true running store. Not a run of the mill, on every corner Sport superstore. They will help you find a shoe that fits your feet properly.

My first recommendation if you are running is to buy a half size larger than you normally wear. This will allow for plenty of movement in your toe box.

I don't know where you bought them, but if it's been less than 30 days I would try to take them back, the worst that could happen is they say no. I second the recommendation of going to a good running store and getting fitted. My heels were "tore up from the floor up" for about 2 weeks until I had the cash to get a good pair of shoes. The running store did the fitting, etc, but didn't have my size...told me to check around to see if I could find them, and if not to let them know. I did find them, and the difference is amazing.

If you need a temporary fix, use duct tape..the original fabric-y kind, not the plastic stuff. If there's an open blister or anything, just put a band-aid over it first, then put the duct tape on top. I wrapped from inside ankle bone to outside, and it helped a LOT. You can also try body glide or petroleum jelly on the backs of your heels.
