Wanted to share a starstruck moment with everyone. The other day at work (I work in cafe part-time), I got to meet Chris Daughtry!! I did not recognize him at first, but my co-worker is a huge fan and I thought she was going to pass out when she met him! :lmao: She did very well, but I think he could tell that she was a fan. I did not get his autograph since he was with his son, but that's fine. Just to let everyone know, he is genuinely a nice person and I hope I can get his autograph next time he comes to my job!

A friend told me he was with his family today checking out a private school
(my friend goes to the school) lots of Daughtry sightings this week
:lmao:

I'm terrible around celebrities. In theory, I'd love to say hello, take a photo with them and ask for their autograph. In reality, however, I do just the opposite. I try my best to act like I have no idea who they are and that they are just another person. I think this stems from the way I feel about fame (for myself). I would NEVER want to be a celebrity because I really enjoy going out in public without cameras following me around and without my private life being on the cover of grocery store magazines. I think if I were famous, I'd be really nice to my fans but would hate all the paparazzi stuff. I also get extremely starstruck with certain people which is really embarrassing. I almost had a panic attack when I saw Harry Shearer having lunch at the London in NYC. (Yes, I love the Christopher Guest Mocumentaries) He and another person were sitting behind us and I almost had to leave. So, I'd rather not even run into them if I can help it...LOL.

Very cool!
I never go up to people and get autographs anymore. In my teens, I did and actually met some genuinely cool people. But now I just think too much about how I would be interrupting or bugging the celeb. I don't want to be "that person." It's like, how do I go up to this person and say hi, but also get across that I'm not a crazy fan?
My sister works in a nice restaurant in NYC and texts me whenever someone famous is there - Michelle Obama, Al Gore...I'm trying to remember any movie/music people...

Wow! Two DISers that live in Greensboro. I thought I was the only one.

He live just down the road from my sister in law. He seems to be a great guy.

Wow! More people who are Disney fans in the Greensboro area! :yay:

Chris is a very nice guy and his son is very well mannered.

That is SO cool - especially that he is so nice in person! I'd have been a starstruck mess for sure. :worship::rotfl:
