Star's Hollow ~ The Gilmore Girls

I am so thrilled to see this thread.
Yes, Stars Hollow seems to be the perfect town in which to live. I always wished that I could live in a small town like it.
Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows. Every once in a while, I watch it on ABC Family, while I'm folding laundry. The funny thing is, I have the entire series on DVD, but still enjoy seeing it on tv.
At one time, I heard a rumor that they were going to have a one time tv movie to finish off the story where they left off. I am still hoping that it will happen.

Love the house. I have always wanted a B & B but I don't think DH would like it, he's not a people person. We have a house here in town that is being converted into a B & B, it is gorgeous! I actually wanted to buy it and the price was right but it needed about 300,000 in additional work which was way more then I could spend.

Yes having a B&B like that would be really good. My Mum really wants a family run B&B and I really want to move to the US so maybe we could move over and have our own Dragonfly Inn. My Dad used to be a chef too so he could be Sooki.

If you ever do get a B&B going you will have to let me know, I would love to stay there

DD and I toured the set during a tour of WB Studio about three years ago. It was very cool. It was all decorated for fall at the time. It really did remind me of a small town.

Not only do they live in a gorgeous, perfect town, Rory and Loralei's relationship always makes me smile so much. It is just so cool how they relate to each other and seem to have so much fun. I only hope if I have a daughter I have half the relationship they do.

I agree with you on the wonderful mother-daughter relationship between Lorelai and Rory. I am the same age as the Lorelai character and saw a lot of my DD(19) and me in them.

Keep watching. I feel that it is one of the best series out there.

On my one and only trip to Connecticut, I kept thinking about what it would be like to be able to visit Stars Hollow!! Love, love, love this show, have all of the seasons on DVD and still watch almost daily on ABC Family.

My mom and both think that North Conway, NH is sorta like Stars Hollow. The people there were so friendly and it's such a pretty town. I want to live there.

Yes, the town square looked just like a town square from a small town. The interior shots were done, for the most part, in soundstages.

OMG I officially love Star's Hollow . They play the Gilmore Girl's everyday at 4.30pm and I try and catch it whenever I can. At the moment they are playing the ones where Luke has just found out he has a daughter. Today they had the Autumn festival and it just looked so much fun. And complete with snow, I want snow

It seems that you're a few days behind me in the episodes that are currently being shown here in NY. It's on at 11am and 5 pm every day.
It just gets better and better each episode!

Have you seen the last series though? I have heard that it isn't half as good. Apparently they used a completely new writer to the one that wrote all the rest so it just doesn't make sense. Apparently it was because of peoples bad reaction to it that they thought about making a film. I really hope they do, it would be really cool. However I doubt they would air it over here

There was definitely a difference when the new writers came in but the last episode was wonderful, though it left a lot of loose ends. The episodes were still good ones, especially for those of us who are real GG fans!

I agree, the last season with the different head writer wasn't the same. But it was definitely worth watching. There were some good shows (Emily arrested, Rory's dream where Paris was fixing breakfast in the Gilmore house, the knit-a-thon etc.) I did hate the storyline of Lorelai marrying Christopher too. But it did have them act out their lifelong fantasy really, what would life had been like if we had gotten married, and now they (and we) can put that idea to rest. And the last show was perfect.

I'd love the buy the DVD's when my DD gets older and watch it all again for the 5th time. : ))

I loved Gilmore Girls! It was such a smart, quirky show. If only I could find a town like Stars Hollow! Can I be Lane?

But like the OP I couldn't watch when Lorelai and Christopher got together - Luke all the way! I also hated Logan. I'm not quite sure I liked Rory and Jess together, but that may be because I heard the actor was a jerk in real life while dating Alexis Bledel.

I don't find Celebration to be like Stars Hollow. It's nice, but to many tourists and too commercial. They try very hard to keep the small town feel, but it just doesn't work for me.
