I've looked all over and can find very little information on Starring Rolls. What excatly do they serve for breakfast and lunch? And what can you get for a CS credit? Also, is this the best bet for "good" food at MGM? I know my CS options there are pretty limited.

They have a pretty basic selection of croissants, sweet rolls, cookies, that sort of thing. Also coffee and drinks. The only lunch-like option I can remember is a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and capers on the side.

I am curious about Starring Rolls too. The menu on allears.net from 09/2006 (maybe outdated?) but does list a few sandwiches and the reviews are pretty good. The menu from wdwinfo has a more recent menu and lists no sandwiches :rolleyes1 so I am confused??

the choices at MGM seem kind of limited and since Starring Rolls supposedly has the same kitchen as Brown Derby it seems like it ought to be good!

anybody else been there lately?

We ate there I think July 26th for lunch. They had sandwiches, maybe 3 types of meat offered, I think 7.99 or 8.99, for turkey, ham or a third type of meat. The sandwiches stood very high, had a lot of meat, they look like 1/6 of a large muffaletta bread size sandwich.

Downside. . . you eat outside, under umbrellas. They are not open for dinner.

They also had a few good pastries, but the Napoleon was a pale substitute for the one at the French bakery place in EPCOT.

I like that place just for the French bread, very crusty and perfect with the cheese and fruit plate.

It's been slightly over a year since I was there, but at the time we had a couple of really yummy sandwiches. I had a veggie sandwich and my sister had the turkey. Both were large portions and very filling.

thanks for the answering about the sandwiches, etc.

sounds like a good plan to me

It's also not too far from ABC Commissary, so if your party is also ordering stuff there, it's not difficult to take your sandwich over there and eat in the air conditioning.

I had the turkey sandwich. It was reasonably good, but not exceptional. It was big enough for two of us to split it.

You can also order a piece of Grapefruit Cake which they will get from the Brown Derby.

The lox rocks. They serve it for breakfast...don't know if it's still around for lunch. They do have sandwiches at lunch.

I ate there for the first time this past May and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't bad. I had a large ham sandwich, a bag of chips (was offered a piece of fruit or chips) and a banana pudding chocolate parfait type thing, Everything was fresh. After reading here on the DIS that the grapefruit cake was available here, that was what I had went in for. However, both CMs working in there told me that as far as they knew Starring Rolls had never served the grapfruit cake and the only place to get it was at the Brown Derby. They did say they were both fairly new though, and that quite a few people had been asking for it that day. Unfortunately, there was not anyone available at the time for them to ask about it.
