Star Wars Weekend Tips ~ 2011 Update

Its great to see the map! We are starting to get so excited!!!
Does anyone know if the kids that participate in the Padawan mind challenge get anything? Like a certificate?
Also has there been an ornament tied to SWW in the past? We try to get one every time we go and I would love to have one with Star Wars characters for my son to hang on the tree.

Yes, in the past the kids that participate in the Padawan Mind challenge and in the Jedi Training Academy get a gift, last year it was SW tunes toothbrushes, before that it was a small SW toy. Also the kids that get picked for the parade get to keep the lightsaber that they give them.
I haven't seen any ornaments with SWW, but you never know.

On Saturday night when I come back from SWW I'll post the times and places where all the SWW characters are appearing, so if you're coming in the next weeks to the event you'll have a better idea on where and when to find everyone.

Thanks! We are going the final weekend and I would love to know about the characters (Disney and Star Wars, not celebrities, though). Any details, tips would be greatly appreciated!

1. How do you get picke for the parade? My kids would love that.

2. Where is Darth Vader going to be? He is our #1 charecter to meet and I don't see it on the map.

3. I am guessing all the charecters disappear before the parade to get ready for it? or are they out greeting during the parade still and thier 'clones' in the actual parade?

SWW merchandise will be at the stores near the backlot tour (Boba's Bounty and Darkside Depot #5 on the map) those are the spots to buy everything SW. Tatooine Traders (gift shop at Star Tours) will be really busy.

1.- they pick at random for the parade, you can always ask at the info desk but in the past it's been random
2.- Darth Vader will probably be around the Backlot Tour (next to the restrooms) that's where he's been in the past. Close to the SW stores #5 on the map.
3.- I'm not sure about this one, since we always see the parade, I'll find out on Saturday.

Another thing that I wanted to point out is that the Padawan Mind Challenge is focused on The Clone Wars Cartoon series, just to let your little padawans know. It doesn't really matter, because everyone gets a prize at the end but I know alot of little ones that are really focused on getting answers right and might be a bit put off because it's not trivia about the 6 movies.

We aren't going until weekend 3&4, but based on the map, it looks like everyone will be in the same spots as last year (I hope)

It's on the map, where they talk about merchandise. Spend $60 or more before tax and you get the SWW throw for $17.95

Also, what kind of stuff will sell out early?? I don't want much- just a T shirt for DS and a poster for a friend's DS (and maybe the hat). Will be OK by weekend 3?

I'm guessing its the picture on the map next to the description, its just the logo from this year pretty much. The other items picture next to the descriptions match them, so I would think that logo picture we are seeing there is the throw.

I have read on other posts about the Jawas walking around the park and trading trinkets with kids. Does anybody have any experience with this and if so what should we bring for the boys to trade?

I've seen Jawas gesturing for people to give them their pins and then they just give them back...so I don't know if the would actually keep something that you give them for trade.

It's been at 11:40am for the past years, the schedule this year is not out yet, but it should be around that time...and yes it's already really hot here, although this week it's supouse to rain so that will keep the temps in the 80's. It looks like a poncho will be needed for weekend 1. I wouldn't worry about it, it looks like the reg. afternoon rains. only 30%. It's getting close
