Thanks!! Aging PC’s and new games usually don’t go well together. ‘Santa’ just got DD a gaming laptop for Christmas - might be able to get something like that just for games. (If that the way you’d rather play.) Can find them at reasonable prices now. Good luck!!!

Nah, it's all good. I prefer a desktop. I always wait for PC games to price drop, so if I do get them and they don't run great it's not a big investment - plus they price drop so fast (Steam sales, baby!). I am however eyeing a newer video card.... :)

Not sure if my spoiler tag worked - I'm not that tech savy, but I don't see the spoiler tag blocking my writing - just wonderful if anyone else thought - SPOILER BELOW

The woman at the end was Rey's mom - they refer to her dying with her dad, but don't actually show her being killed

not too sure about that. Shes on a different planet, even though Jakku and Tatooine looks similar lol

I googled it and there is no definitive answer - 2nd viewing, I paid a lot of attention to it, and they look very similar - obviously, just much older

Fallen Order is my favorite Star Wars game since 'Knights of the Old Republic' which was YEARS ago. Note that it's not a Battlefield/Battlefront style game. It's single player story based action/adventure. It plays similar to the PS4 Uncharted or God of War games, while the gameplay is lightsaber based with a lot of blocking and parrying. Respawn (the developers) have been releasing patches to iron out some bugs, making it only better!
I'm probably going to pick it up. I do enjoy a good single player game when I don't want to go all sweaty tryhard playing FPSs and it would probably fill in nicely until FF7 remake comes out.

I picked this game up for DH for Christmas. Knights of the old republic is probably one of his favorite games of all time. And he hate multiple player online games, so he never got battlefront.

hopefully he likes it!

Just an FYI that your spoiler tagging didn't work ... looks like you have open and close tags before and after your comment but not wrapped around it ... you need to highlight what you want to be hidden and then hit "spoiler" in the menu

My completely non spoiler RoS review- I liked it. I thought it ended as well as it could and answered questions without being like 7 hours long. But I’m not a hardcore Star Wars fan- the first Star Wars movie I ever saw was phantom menace and I was in high school. DH and I went to revenge of the sith when we were dating and I fell asleep lol. But in the past 15 years with him I’ve been forced to learn a lot lol.

DH the hardcore fan also liked it, but apparently continues to havemany questions that he felt were not adequately answered.

Thanks much !!

This is one of a half-dozen or so articles I’ve found online in recent days that make one of my original points far better than I did. It contains spoilers, so do not click without seeing TROS first. I will restate that I enjoyed the movie and never said that it “sucked” as claimed in a later post. Maybe if I had said LucasFilm execs instead of Disney execs it wouldn’t have gotten such a hostile reply.

Anyway, I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s perspective and appreciate the mostly respectful discussion. This is the way!

I think part of the problem I have is they took zero risks with this movie. TLJ took risks. My unpopular opinion is I wish Rian Johnson would done the whole trilogy.

Like Pete always says, all opinions are right. I think it would have been interesting to see wear Johnson would have taken things with IX, but I love ROS so much (currently sitting at #4 on my list behind the OT), I'm happy Abrams got brought back in. I'm a fan of TLJ so it's nothing against Johnson. And I don't agree that ROS was written as a slight or take back of things from TLJ. I see the two fitting well together.

Really enjoyed it! Definitely agree with you all. Lots of fan service but still really satisfying

Starting to catch up on the comments,

i did think the healing was a bit overused in this movie. I thought the part with the big snake thing it was cool. The part where she heals kylos stab wound annoyed me a bit, but wasn’t the worst thing.

I guess I chalked up her ability to do it to her strong force lineage, and the fact she’s been reading the sacred texts for a year

The healing stuff was used exactly 3 times, and each had a purpose so I don’t think it was overused. The serpent was to establish (for people who hadn’t seen Mandalorian) that Force healing is a thing, rather than coming out of the blue on the Death Star wreckage. The second gave Rey a conscious choice to actually save Ben (as opposed to, say, not stabbing him). The third time, because Rey was dead, I guess Ben had to give all his life force to bring her back. Each time escalated it and I think for narrative purposes the latter uses needed the earlier ones.

TROS had a better Monday than TLJ did 29 million vs. 20 million.

It makes sense if you think about it. TLJ came out on the (14th) 15th, ten days before Christmas. The 18th-22nd were a normal school/work week for many. Disney went right on the money with the (19th) 20th this year. Kids are off school the 23rd, 24th, many parents are off work as well. This is going to be a full “Christmas week” for RoS, which combined with the better word of mouth than last time around and more repeat viewings should give it some legs. It’s also not got much for competition.

I think the box office obituary was getting written too soon. Slow China start won’t help its worldwide total, but domestically I think it’ll handily pass TLJ.

Re: Things unsaid...

I have to add, it was either he loves her as others mention, but I think it more likely its that he is Force sensitive... several times in the movie he is clearly feeling the force (Leia's death, he knows where Rey is, etc.). I hope it's that anyway. I liked the Finn/Poe/Rey dynamic being about friendship rather than romantic love.
Finn is definitely strong with the Force. I believe this was the set up for the Feige movie which I think will center on Finn.

Dh just started playing Fallen Order and he seems to like it.

So, who has seen Rise of Skywalker >1 time? We are going for our second showing Christmas afternoon. It's our family tradition to see a movie on Christmas day and I'm happy to get a second crack at it!

Why is Finn so hesitant to say he is force sensitive. This just doesn’t make sense to me maybe I’m missing something. And why don’t they answer it in the movie but then go out their way to answer it on Twitter. The whole thing is just doesn’t make sense.

Maybe that was one of the added scenes and they forgot to tie it up and put a bow on it? Maybe they just wanted everyone to talk about it on twitter to increase interest?
