Star Wars hotel

I could not care less about Star Wars and the little girl in my profile pic is poser. She only likes it because all of her friends do

BUT... If it makes other happy, more power to them. More room for me at other resorts :D

This is really not that exciting....im into star wars but im not THAT into star wars....This is going to be a failed concept because of just that. Disney is trying to capture a very small market of hardcore star wars fandom
Did you see the reports of the crowds at the Star Wars Convention weekend in Orlando last April?!? I think you vastly underestimate the size of the Star Wars fandom universe. Vastly.
Just give it a Google. People waited hours to get in to the stand by rooms to watch a video of a panel. Because they needed to wait days to get in to the live panel room.

Sounds awesome but I'm dreading already how some guests might screw this up. Like the people who didnt 'get' the Adventurers Club.
in its favour.... star wars has mass appeal
Adventurers Club was for a far more discerning clientele

Totally disagree. I wouldn't consider myself a big Star Wars fan (I haven't seen the original movies since I was a kid, and I haven't seen all of the newer ones), but I think this would be an amazing experience. DH and I are already talking about saving up for it. I don't think Disney is going to have any trouble filling this hotel at whatever price point they set. In fact, I think people are going to have a lot of trouble getting reservations because it is going to be so popular.

I would have to agree. Plus, this generally is a unique concept. I have never heard of an immersive hotel experience like this anywhere else. People will want to travel from all around the globe to experience the immersive hotel experience. I think often we forget some people have plenty of money to spend, and if people are truly passionate about Star Wars, they WILL find a way to save up for it.

I'm not a Star Wars fan at all, but I'd try it out just for the experience. I'm an avid RPG gamer, but I'm more Harry Potter/Dr Who than I am Star Wars when it comes to movies and shows. Even with that said though, the immersion is what will draw a lot of people like myself. I love Comic Cons and pretending in general (Yes, I'm 34 and I admit I'm just a big kid), so if I have the opportunity to stay somewhere that I get to BE a character for a few days and go on an 'adventure', then shoot yeah. Take my money!

I only wish there was a Harry Potter equivalent. I'd pay whatever it cost for that.
Trust me... if there's any way to make that profitable, the folks at Universal are already planning it out.

I'm actually a little surprised Disney might beat them to the punch on this.

If Disney is as slow at building resorts as they are new lands, Universal may well beat Disney to the punch now that they know what Disney has planned for SW.

I wish Disney would build a simple deluxe hotel with Star Wars decorations, like a Star Wars version of the All Stars, in addition to this proposed Star Wars hotel. Then people who just want to stay in a Star Wars hotel without too much immersion or role playing can enjoy it without paying too much. There are a lot more casual fans than die hard fans. (Not to say that there aren't gazillions of die hard fans.) Just saying, I wish Disney would build a Star Wars hotel that's cheaper than $1000 per night. Like you can get a Star Wars shirt at Walmart for only $10, or you can pay $30 for a Star Wars shirt at HS, but people who can't afford the expensive shirt can still enjoy wearing a cheap Star Wars shirt. People can save $2000, certainly, but it's a lot easier to save $200. The cheaper Star Wars hotel just need a few easy to build props, nothing too expensive, but it will still be super cool.

I probably will pay for my family to stay at the Star Wars hotel at least once, and I'm just a casual fan. I don't want to do any role playing or dress up in costumes, though. I wonder if I can refuse it?
