Hmmmmm what should I do?

Just got an email from DD's school that she has a minimum day on Thursday before race weekend. We were just gonna drive up Friday morning (about 8 hours drive with the kids), hit the expo in the afternoon and have a few hours in the parks that day. But now I'm wondering if we should just drive down on Thursday instead. Granted we wouldn't get there til 9:30 or later depending on LA traffic. But that would give us an entire day in the parks on Friday, aside from time spent at the Expo. It would cost us about $350 for another night at PPH though. Is it worth it?

If you can afford to do it, I say go for it! I'm a enabler who will use any excuse though.

My friend and I are in the middle of debates on how many days we want to stay at WDW for Wine & Dine next year and it's oh o easy to talk ourselves into doing an extra day. Far easier than it should be, probably.

Howdy everyone, had another question, thank you to everyone who helped with my last question. Since ToT 10 miler isn't happening, I've seen a few people talk about they were hoping for legacy in 2 years. So even if you signed up through an official travel group, should still be able to get legacy as long as you complete the next 4 as well right?

Maybe I'm just reading your post wrong (yay lack of sleep), but legacy for what after 2 years?

I PMd you!
I am struggling with a sore ankle from kicking my prior 10K times booty. Hoping next week it will quit poofing up on me so I can start prepping for my first half in November. Eek!

Emailed it to you! :) Good luck w/ your 1st half!!

I say go for it. And if you're not on board w/ PPH for the short time maybe you could stay at a cheaper hotel and then bounce over check-in time on Fri. Plus, not only will you have more park time, you'll have more expo time and we all know how crazy that expo is going to be. ;)

Yes, you should get legacy even w/ a travel company. In order to be a legacy, you just need to have an official time for all of the races and you'll get that even though you're registered through the company. W/ TOT, when/if they bring it back (I've read it's due to HS construction) as long as they keep running and it's the same distance they should be able to keep the legacy status. But if/when they bring it back, if they change the distance again (originally it was a 13k), then the status would start all over again.

As long as you get the answers, that's all that matters!! My brain is kind of on auto-pilot, lol.

It's a bummer about TOT next year though. I'm rather oblivious to things at WDW but it sounds like it has to do with construction, so hopefully we will see a triumphant return of TOT when all of that is complete. I really need to start figuring WDW things out. My friend and I are planning for our first C2C with W&D next year.

Thank you Kim, that's the answer I was looking for! I apologise for wording it so horribly.

And I added dates from what I previously planned. Originally was planning to fly out to DL Thursday morning and leave Sunday right after the race, it dawned on me how insane that is (and verified after doing ToT 10 miler) so now flying in Wed and flying out Monday late morning. So happy to have a rest day after the 1/2.

Myself and a few others are planning W&D as well for C2C, looks like an awesome race. And after ToT, I def like the night race.

Rest days are extra nice!

I didn't rest after ToT last weekend, I spent a few hours at the after party, headed back to the hotel and was on the ME at 4:30am to fly home, after hobbling through MCO I vowed to never do that again. Lol

It was my top choice for a possible other half of my Coast 2 Coast. I'd also like to run the WDW full sometime within the next few years so I can get another C2C on my home turf. That's actually where the move of the Tinker Bell helps me. I doubt I could have done those back to back when I've never even attempted a full in my life before.

But everything is really starting to dawn on me for this one! It's really only a few months away now.

Thanks ladies. Talked it over with mom and we're gonna go for it. The PPH rate is actually $50 less that night if I book through Disneyland directly so that will save a tiny bit. Plus now we don't have to worry about "what if" something happens in our travels on Friday and we cant get in before the expo closes. And also we wont have to wake up at 5am on Friday morning to hit the road. We can sleep in! See how easy that was to justify :) Yay! I'm so excited! Haven't told DH yet though but I doubt he'll mind an extra free night away from the wife and kiddies.

Reminds me of the DL 1/2 last year. I had this brilliant idea of driving back to my hometown to visit my family since I had a few extra days off work. As soon as I got home after the half I showered, packed up my car, and spent the next 6+ hours driving up I-5.

I was definitely feeling it then!

Wow, sounds just as bad or worse then mine lol, I took Monday off from work and I'm so glad, I could barely move!

They both sound like cruddy ways to spend your time directly after running an event!

I did that at Princess this year. Got back to the room, showered, and was on ME at 12:30-1 for my flight. I wore my compression socks and was still having some issues. :rotfl2: But rest is always better, especially when you get time in the parks.

You could totally do the marathon and Tink if they didn't move it! ;) It gets better as training goes on. And ice baths definitely help.

As for the races being only a few months away... Ahhhh, don't remind me! :goodvibes Every time I start to think about everything, it freaks me out. Right now, I'm just ignoring the races and focusing on Sunday after everything's over. :rotfl2:

Yay!! And if you need help convincing DH, I did the same thing ~ if I'm flying down 1st thing Fri morning, why not late Thurs afternoon and get there early.

Up until this past DL 1/2 I highly doubt it. I've always been rather miserable after running just a half and I never quite get as far as I would like during my training. But I'm definitely learning a lot of things as I recover from each event.

All I know is I absolutely will run a full at least once and I want it to be WDW. Still hoping I can afford to do it in 2017 as I celebrate 30!

It sounds like we atleast both learned from it and that's what's important! Lol

Darn right it is.

There's a highly good chance I will be wrong about this but if I'm correct RunDisney should post the medal pics on Wed or Thursday. Avengers and Marathon weekend medals were both posted 3 months prior. I'm excited to see what they will look like!

I totally blew it and haven't booked our hotel yet. Sad to see there is no availability for on-site hotels. Does anyone think they will open up more rooms as we get closer?

It's possible, I'm thinking travel providers might have blocks of rooms and if they don't sell em then they release them back. I could be wrong though.

Get Travel still has all 3 hotels available; they work w/ DL races for discounted rooms and park tix. PPH is $350, DLH is $397 and GC is $467, but they have a 3 night minimum.
