Star Wars Half Marathon ** Check In ** January 14-17, 2016

It's a shame though, that they waited to announce it until after SW registration for Disneyland. A lot of people who may possibly have been interested in doing that inaugural run and coast to coast never even stood a chance unless they just went under the assumption that it was coming (which a lot of people had speculated, but with Disney who ever knows).

Seriously.

Just not cool.

Time for them to get challenges for the less-than-Half distance, too, IMO.
 
Checking in! Will be running the Star Wars Half along with my 2 teen sons and a group of friends.

Has anyone seen anything yet on bib number assignments? Thanks!
 
I would think waivers and corrals would come out either this week or early next week. WDW came out last week, just don't remember which day.

Also WHY WHY WHY does the expo not open until noon on Friday? Totally messes up my plan for the day!
I think it's a little different. I think last year we stayed on Ball to Harbor and then into the parks and the last part was around the backside of DCA in the parking lot. Looks like this year we turn in at the backstage stoplight on Ball right after we turn the corner. We did that for the 1/2 I remember last year so we're backstage that part over by the offices and b/w the train tracks and Harbor kinda like we did one of the earlier Tinks.

I didn't even notice the expo for Fri! That's weird since it's starting on Thur, you'd think they'd flip flop Thur and Fri hours. I'm driving down Fri morning and was thinking I'd miss the craziness of opening but now looks like I'll be there for it. :rotfl: Hopefully I won't like any merch and then I can just do bib pickup and get in and out, but we know that'll happen.

1. I'm just doing the 10k so I didn't submit a time verification. How are corral placements determined? Will I automatically be put in D or E?
2. Why does the booklet say 4am arrival time? That seems incredibly early but is it normal?

W/ the 10ks, you don't have to submit a POT so no worries there. :goodvibes I think there's a place during the reg to put your estimated time and they go off of that.

As for the arrival time... they say 4, but it can be later. That being said, the staging area is in the DL hotel parking lot and the corrals line up starting on DL Dr at the DTD overpass and back towards Katella. So if you're doing a bag drop it's a little walk. Not much, like .25 miles, but still eats some time. Also, the corrals and entering them when a lot of people are trying to do it can get crowded so getting there earlier will give you some cushion and not get you worried. I usually get in the corrals around 4:45 just to be safe. And you won't be alone, no matter how early there always seems to be people in them and you'll find yourself talking to and meeting new people in the corrals.

The expo for Avengers was the same way. Early on Thursday and later start on Friday. I think because the 5k is Friday morning. A lot of the staff is doing double duty, so it could be a logistical thing.
 
People on the other thread say to to view that link on your smartphone. That other races populate on the cell but not on a normal computer.
 
I'm in B for the RC, but DW is in C, and honestly, I think that's where I belong, so I'm going to move back. (I had a really good race this summer that I used for my POT, while DW suffered a broken foot that kept her from running our planned POT races.)

Now I just need to finish my race outfits!
 
My DS's are in Coral A (where they should be with there 6:33 minute miles) and I am in coral C with my 2 other running friends.... perfecto placement! Couldn't be more pleased.
 
I'm in corral B for the Rebel Challenge. So looking forward to these Star Wars races, especially with the release of The Force Awakens.
