Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Yes, it’s expensive, but we thought it worth it. It was going to be a one-and-done, but now I think we may be going back. This is coming from two adults with no kids, though.

The storyline was so packed and immersive, that spread out across all waking hours, the cost per hour was totally worth it to us.

What would be your #1 reason for a subsequent visit? To explore an alternate progression of the story. Or maybe omit the story aspect and just explore/enjoy the resort.

How late into the evening were you working on the mission? Did you give up and go to bed? Could you continue all night if you wanted to?

Is there anything you would have done differently for your voyage?

Did you dress the part? Do you feel it enhanced your experience? If you didn't dress up, do you feel it would have enhanced your experience?

Do you keep the GS pin that identified you as a Halycon traveler? Any other unexpected freebies?

Not sure if this is an angle you were touching on or not, but as a spinoff to this comment, I’m not so sure what I would think as a fellow passenger on the same voyage as someone constantly videotaping and perhaps narrating/talking through much of the experience.

Obviously you’re not with the same people and vloggers generally aren’t filming all of the time and many take care to minimize filming of others so my concern is overblown, but if I’m being honest I am there for the Starcruiser experience, not to be in Famous Blogger X’s videos. It’s one thing to be in the parks where such situations are fleeting moments, but this experiance feels different given the close quarters.

I know that’s a curmudgeon view in today’s world, but just my opinion!
Not disagreeing. I will say though that the Trackers have done voiceovers for videos when they know it would be innappropriate to narrate. I do wonder, though, if Disney will have some sort of policy in place to currtail filming. It's one thing in a park where you can dodge out of the way. This is different.

Not so interested in staying bc of price, but I am enjoying reading about how excited you all are :) hope it's OK that I lurk.

To explore alternate story lines. The resort doesn’t have a ton to explore. We had plenty of time to see the various areas.

How late into the evening were you working on the mission? Did you give up and go to bed? Could you continue all night if you wanted to?

They end formal activities around 10. I went to bed on the first night, but DH roamed the ship for awhile. They lock some areas but you aren’t confined to room! Second night we took some pictures and were out until 11, then we had to pack.

Is there anything you would have done differently for your voyage?

Paid more attention to missions etc the first day. Listened to our room droid’s bedtime story the first night.

Did you dress the part? Do you feel it enhanced your experience? If you didn't dress up, do you feel it would have enhanced your experience?

Yes and yes, definitely. DH was very recognizable in Jedi and High Republic outfits and CMs and passengers appreciated his effort. I was more low-key (thrift store outfit) but was glad I dressed up.

Do you keep the GS pin that identified you as a Halycon traveler? Any other unexpected freebies?

Yes, we kept the pin. And we got bottles of water on Batuu. We also got a Halcyon medallion but I think that was exclusive to first voyage.

Question: I have clients who want to spend the morning of their Starcruiser arrival at Hollywood Studios doing non-Star Wars things. It's at the end of a long trip where they have 8-day tickets, so it was worth it to them to add an extra day of tickets just to spend a few hours at HS that morning. They're going to have their luggage transferred from their pre-Starcruiser resort. But how do they physically get themselves to the Starcruiser if they're at HS in the morning?
Buses don't run directly from HS to Disney Springs, though. Or do they now?

Buses run between DS and Starcruiser starting at 11 (you can drop luggage, go to DS, and come back at 1). Easiest would be to get an Uber, Lyft or taxi at DHS front gate and just go around. I seriously doubt anyone would let someone walk. There is a gate in the roadway with a pedestrian-blocking gate.

For anyone trying to book the new fall dates that opened today I waited on hold for 3 hours & 40 minutes this morning before getting through to an agent to book. My husband & I are booked for October 23rd & we were able to get captain's table!! It seems the prices are higher than the September sample price I saw our standard cabin for 2 adults was $5732.

Question for those of you are planning to do this as part of a longer WDW trip. Are you trying to Galactic Star Cruiser at the beginning, middle, or end of your time there?

We've never been to WDW but are planning to do a trip later this year or in 2023. We are big Star Wars fans so trying to figure out if this might be doable for us, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the rest of the WDW experience. I think we'd be too jet lagged at a beginning of a trip to enjoy the Galactic Star Cruiser (Pacific time zone), are most people saving for the end of your trip? Also considering maybe in the middle with different moderate resorts on either end. But that's a lot of changing of hotels... We'd probably have 7-8 days total in Orlando.
We're doing it at the end of our trip. I would have been OK with doing it at the beginning as well, but in the middle seemed like too big a pain, having to switch hotels twice rather than once.

Reports of Rise down for Starship guests. You know it can happen but seems to take away some possibly from your day on the "planet".

We are booked for the beginning of our trip. Once we disembark, we do not have a park day scheduled till the following day.

Skyliner to CBR, Bus to DS, then bus to starcruiser? If they can't arrive until 1 PM and want to take a scenic route.

Or just take a cab from DHS to the starcruiser.

After watching Len's videos and listening to Len's recap this morning, I'm going to find a way to do this. At some point.

I'm sorry I haven't read through this entire thread since the maiden voyage - I'm just wondering if anyone has stayed in a Galaxy Suite yet? I saw a video of the room and saw there is a queen and one pull-down bed in the bedroom - I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm the second pull-down bed is in the living room portion of the suite?

For anyone that has gone, can you tell me how to build the SK-620 remote control droid? Do you do this on the Halcyon or at Droid Depot? We have reservations for Droid Depot, but if we can’t do the special droid there we may cancel.

It looks like it comes pre-built in the gift shop onboard, but I could be wrong about that.

I don't think anyone has suggested this route yet from DHS: walk or take the boat to BoardWalk. Bus from BoardWalk to Disney Springs. But from Disney Springs to Starcruiser.

I've had a look through the thread and haven't seen yet where someone has mentioned the "few extra Star Wars surprises" that come with the Suites. Do we know what these are yet please?

Taking my Starcruiser trip smack dab in the middle of my Disney World stay. I'm part of a group that will ebb and flow in size but includes a total of 10 people in two 2BR units starting on a Saturday and continuing for 8 nights. On Wednesday, two of us are abandoning the rest of the group to take our cruise to Batuu. I've scheduled park visits on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. It won't be as complete as my vacation in 2000 (5 nights at the Polynesian followed by a 2 night Disney Wonder cruise and finishing with 2 nights at Portofino Bay), but it'll come close.

WDW news stayed in one and did this video.
Looks like the living room has a sofa and a pull out.

In my opinion why I think Disney decided to build a Star Wars themed experience and turn it into a resort is because Disney always has had a lifelong love affair with Star Wars and they have always wanted to share that love affair. My view of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is that it will fail and I think that in a few years the voyage aspect will disappear and will be transformed into a regular resort. Right now ever since it opened I've seen NO commercials promoting it and nothing else related to it on TV and it has shocked me. Another thing about Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is why did they choose to make it a two night voyage rather than a three or four night voyage? What do you think guests do once the voyage is over? Go to another resort?. The only people I can see that will pay huge money to go to Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser will be:
A. Big time Star Wars fans
B. People who adore space themed movies
C. People who want to try a different experience that's unique
D. First time visitors to Walt Disney World
E. All of the above
The two possible answers are most likely A and E. But Disney should've done something better with Star Wars and they should've given this more promotion and more commercials to make it something successful

Why’s it only 2 nights?
Full time immersion is exhausting. I’ve already read people coming off the ‘voyage’ have been shattered.
Any more would be too much.
It’s no sit back and relax experience..
