Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Are others also planning to tour through the rest of Hollywood Studios during the planetary excursion? Just wondering what people's thoughts on this are.

I am planning to spend as little time as possible in Batuu and not go anywhere else in DHS. My primary mission is to experience as much as I can on the ship. First world/entitlement/privelege aside... I can "go to Batuu" anytime. Being on the ship is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Also the food at lunch on the ship will surpass anything at Docking Bay 7... which I could get any other day at DHS. So if I even get off the ship at all it will be like a surgical strike in the pre-dawn hours of a Black Friday Super Sale. ;) ;)

we got Oga's so definitely going to Batuu. Will do the rides we have access to. I have a relative who works in Batuu and will go visit. And I can go to DHS other times, so why do a park tour. Might go to Baseline though if there's nothing else going on

I agree. I actually wish the time at Batuu was eliminated completely and was instead replaced with a full day of planned interactions/activities/events onboard the GS. Although guests can stay onboard all day if they'd like, I've thought from the beginning that the day in Batuu was just a way for Disney to cut costs by avoiding planned items during that time. I can go to Batuu and be elbow-to-elbow with thousands of other people anytime.

A very fair point! And they have made it clear that remaining up on the Starcruiser will be an option for those who so choose.

I'm just wondering whether there really will be anything going on up on the Halcyon during the time they are expecting us to be down to Batuu... I guess we really don't know at this point, and probably will not know until the first few voyages have been completed.

Anyone want to cancel 4/18-19? lol. Trying to bring another family but sold out according to site. Phone lines apparently full, been on hold for over an hour.

I would do this but the price:scared1: even though I can do it with DVC points, I would still have to pay for the 2nd guest. Not a good value IMO. I really wish they would just give each person a ticket for DHS for the day you check out. If I'm shelling out that kind of money, I want to spend as much time as I can on the cruiser.

They just gave the Galactic Starcruiser a bus stop slot at Disney Springs, which I find a little odd.
Hmmm... I wonder if people flying in to MCO and using the new Mears Connect shuttle service will need to go to Disney Springs and connect? Rather than having Mears Connect drop off right at the Starcruiser terminal...

I'm wondering if that also is where you'll have to self park. Because there's clearly nowhere to do that "at" the resort.

I kind of like how it plays into the idea of a "shore excursion," but I agree with your point all the same. I love Batuu, but I can go there any time for the cost of a park ticket. I want to soak up as much of my "sold-a-kidney-on-Craig's-List" hotel stay as possible.

According to the rep I booked with, if you are arriving at the Starcruiser terminal in your own car then you have to use the valet. There is no self parking at the Halcyon. But it’s included in the cost of the voyage.

I’ve always assumed, although I guess I shouldn’t, that the excursion to Batuu provides a window for housekeeping service. Or at least I hope it does!

But yeah, this will be interesting to watch. I’m in the camp of “I can go to DHS any day” and we already have droids, sabers, etc so there’s nothing there I ‘have’ to do. I don’t mind the excursion since I’m thinking I’ll be happy for a change of scene/outdoor time. Hoping the “missions that influence events back on the ship” make the time on Batuu more interesting for guests like us.

Nit picky Disney observation, but sort of interesting show choice that they used the term “Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Resort” on that bus sign.

Re-reading the FAQs just now, I was reminded: “If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel before or after your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage, transportation to or from your Disney Resort hotel is also included.

Unless they are planning to offer individual custom travel accommodations for each guest doing such a transfer (seems unlikely)… I guess the plan could be that a resort guest will need to transfer at Disney Springs coming from or to their transfer resort. ????

Like how they do Typhoon Lagoon transportation.

That'll be a hoot when one of those guys who has the money to burn to book a stay at this place rolls up in "his baby" and he refuses to let someone else drive it. They'll have to have a "go park here and take a shuttle back" option.

I wonder how he’ll like leaving his baby in the AoA parking lot. 🤔

definitely interested in the airport transfer options since I am going straight to the airport after.
