Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Does anyone know what the alternate activity to lightsaber training is for kids under 7?
I can't confirm, but I have read comments elsewhere from several people that they have special, modified lightsaber training for kids under the age threshold. If this is important to you, please confirm that with someone who can tell you officially, for certain.

I think I may have found our back story, counterfeiting galactic credits.
Making Batuu Spira (I know it's the wrong shape) for our at home Sabacc games. Consider yourself warned if you see my kids at the Sabacc table.😎

Looks like the starcruiser carries on the dvc villa tradition where “studios” with less amenities sleep five and “one bedrooms” with more amenities sleep four. Always found that a bit puzzling. Also that shared double shower in the roomier cabin is a bit of a middle school gym locker room trigger for my DH. Looks like fun to me….:scratchin

Did you feel the truck motion on the "Shuttle" to Batuu?

I've seen some videos and it looks unpair with the level of experience it supposed to be. No windows (screens), no animatronics, only a few light effects...

It felt more like a truck on the way back than going out, for some reason. No, there weren’t any screens. But it was comfortable seating and was
pretty short ride.

Potentially dumb question - but for those of you who have already received your itineraries: does everyone in your party get the same itinerary? I'm staying in a room with two other adults and we'd like to do everything together if possible. I don't really want to be off doing bridge training while my fiancée is learning to play sabacc.

I believe everyone in the party gets the same slot for things like lightsaber training and bridge training. If for some reason that isn’t true, the crew are willing and able to adjust things on the fly. Members of the group may have different missions, depending on choices made during the experience.

We were at DHS yesterday and at RotR I spotted two couples who I guessed correctly were on the Halcyon. This was thrilling--even for a non-Starcruising guest!

So for those of you who are on the Halcyon, just know that your energy is contagious. It was wonderful to see you, your costumes are awesome, and it was obvious you were all having an amazing time. We got a lot of vicarious pleasure out of the experience.

For those interested in going with young kids - TheTimTracker and family are going later this month, and they have a two year old. They're also not huge Star Wars fans, so their vlogs should give a good idea on how non-fans will find the experience.

I think that's a mistake for Tim and Jenn. It will ruin either one of their experiences or both as a child needs should and will take precedent over the story and experience. It also has the possibility of ruining the experience of others. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being a killjoy but having a 2 year old having a melt down while I'm trying to suspend reality and believe I'm in a Galaxy far far away at $125 an hour is not something I'd be too happy about. its not like the child will remember any of it anyway.
Even kids at 5 will just be smashing all the buttons in bridge training and wont be able for the most part to take part in the wider story going on.

Thank you for this! We had a super fun time on our port excursion yesterday, completing several missions. If you saw a Jedi Temple guard, that was most likely my DH!

Will write more later if folks are interested, but short version is that we are super happy with the experience. DH more of a Star Wars fan than me, and he has been in alt.
Please share whatever you are comfortable sharing--I know I am interested and considering booking for next Jan/Feb.

Hello,

I just disembarked from the Halcyon. I'm debating writing a longer trip report type thing, but here are some basic tips that are non-spoilerific.

They issued datapads to use. You were unable to use your personal device for the app.

Holo sabacc stayed pretty busy. However the morning of day 2 it was empty and pretty easy to get the whole table (four seats at the table).

The first day jump on one of the crew access consoles early (near the elevators) and press the restricted access and scan your "m" bands and you can start getting missions.

Sabacc rules: Dice is rolled. One will give you a target number, the other gives you a shape. You try to get to the target number. Tiebreaker is getting more cards with the shape from the dice (circle, square, etc). Deal five cards, keep what you want. Must keep first chosen cards the entire hand. Place bets. Second set of cards dealt and same process for keeping whatever cards you want. Bet. End of round. Usually four rounds in a game of sabacc (or number of players).

Lunch buffet had a great selection.

I am 6 foot 1 and 250 pounds and was able to fit in the bunks or on the fold down bed. There is very little seating in the room.

On day two, If you find a one on one time with any of the main characters (Gaya’s manager, Sammie the engineer, Saja the lightsaber trainer, Cruise Director) a conversation with them can lead you to additional opportunities on the ship. That seems to be the best way to get unscheduled missions on day two.

I would also say I am usually impressed with Disney's service. However, for those people who lament that service has gone downward over the decades, the staff here is incredible. They are as helpful and polite as possible, but they do want to stay in character as much as possible. Play with them in character and they will give great tips.

Happy to check back and answer other things.

I am looking forward to hearing their reactions. Especially with Jackson being still on the young side. There's no way I can afford this but I am enjoying this vicariously

I called 407-939-4243

That phone number worked the best! Thank you! I was on hold for 10-15 minutes whereas the phone number of 407-939-1800 just kept saying the line was closed! I kept calling throughout the day yesterday but it never changed. Same for this morning. Maybe because I'm on the west coast?
