Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

Call got picked up after 2 hours 15 minutes by “prescreener.” She verified our eligibility, provided me with my PIN, and told me that she couldn’t transfer me to booking as they were not accepting any more calls right now. Said there was no direct line to booking, had to keep trying the AP line, which I keep getting “all circuits busy.” This is extremely frustrating. Our AP status is linked to MDE, no reason why we shouldn’t be able to book this online. I leave for WDW tomorrow morning, so I’ve only got today to try to get through. :(

So true and the funny thing is the lady as just kinda like didn't really give a crud about it either...then she asked me if I would like to make a reservation at another Disney hotel. Ugh

So I guess if they can't handle the reservation system...how are they going to handle the opening?

Update: I had hold music the entire time after the screening call, but never heard an estimated wait time. 2.5 hours after calling in, it is DONE! We are booked for 2 adults in a standard cabin on the first sailing! It is showing in MyDisneyExperience already, even though I don't have a confirmation e-mail yet.
Now it's time to go to work and earn the money to pay the balance!
You have the Pixie Dust ! I'm jealous -- and still on silent hold !

As mind-numbingly annoying as the on-hold-music and ads can be, I would prefer them to the silence! I keep looking to make sure the phone line is still "in use" for this call.........
Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi !! :darth:

Slight aside… I have a blue card, but bought resale in 2015… is it only pre-2011 that are eligible, or blue card holders?
Just to reassure you, as Cluelyss said, it’s blue card. Having some points that qualify you for a blue card is enough to be eligible for DVC advance booking. What I don’t know is whether they’ll let you use the points that are not blue card eligible - sometimes you can only use the points that are blue card points, not the ones that aren’t eligible for a blue card.

Does anyone know if you can use the additional passenger booking for the points and pay for the rest I have nowhere near the points for a normal passenger booking but I will happily pay full price.

I think this protracted wait on the silent phone is harder for me, now that I'm retired (as of 1/1/21) -
If I were still "working from home", at least I would have work distractions to occupy my time while I was waiting ? :earboy2:

So, Punkrockbebop, what time did your silent hold start ?? Mine started at 7:43

oh you apparently are way ahead of me. I got on the line exactly at 7am, didn’t get a CM until 8:19am, then went on hold with music and another over two hour wait around 8:30 am, but it went silent, and I’m still on hold…………..

negative. I called DVC last night and they told me you have to have enough points to book at least one person In your party.

It's been an emotional roller-coaster for me though -- when I first reached a CM at about 7:20, she could not verify my status. The DW got the email with the code, because her AP is active, but mine is in "renewal certificate" status --- Luckily, by sharing her (DW) DVC & email info., the CM found our code. Then it was a few minutes of pre-screening, and the transfer happened about 7:43. I was very excited to successfully get the code approved, since I didn't have the code info. with me when I called in, and then when the phone went dead silent, right after a statement that it would be a greater-than-60-minute wait, I feared the worst - that I had been disconnected. I did not hang up, however! I used another cell phone to call back in, and went through a shorter pre-screen with another CM, since I now had the code, and anticipated the pre-screen questions. That line did the same thing, only it stated a wait greater than 2 hours. So now I'm still sitting here at the computer, with both lines still on silent holds. There has got to be a better way to facilitate something like this !! At least the DisBoards gave me comfort that I was not alone in this journey. Hang in there, and let me know when they pick up for you.

Does it have to be an active pass? I bought one over the weekend just for this not knowing you had to activate it

That's what they told me this morning. It had to be an active pass, and you had to have a unique code....
