Star Wars cruise vs regular Fantasy cruise

So our two cruises were both Star Wars cruises on the Fantasy. My kids really enjoyed both. They are talking about going again, but I mentioned the week we would travel is not a Star Wars cruise. I said that just means no meet and greets with Vader and a Wookie. But I got to thinking, what about the movies? I think they love being able to see their favorite movies throughout the week. They'd miss that and it might even impact their experience.

What other movies might be shown or are the Star Wars movies still on during regular sailings? Also, what else might they miss that won't be on a regular sailing?

We've never done a Star Wars cruise but each cruise we have taken has shown the most recent Star Wars movie in the Buena Vista Theatre. So unless you're sailing a long time after the most recent movie (currently Solo which out in May and I'm not sure when the next one comes out) I'd assume you'll have the opportunity to watch at least one Star Wars movie. I've also seen the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon show played on Funnel Vision. The movies generally shown in the theatre are typically the most current 6-7 Disney-owned movies. How recently they were released/overall popularity generally dictate how often each one is shown.

The Fantasy also has the on-demand movies, but it's been 2.5 years since we've been on the Fantasy so I can't remember if Star Wars were included in that or not.

I've never seen any Star Wars characters on a cruise so definitely wouldn't expect that.

I think there is a little Jedi-academy type activity/show for kids of the SWDAS that I've never seen offered on a regular sailing.

My guys are teens, so the meet and greets are for me to get photos. I think they'd miss the movies and the fireworks. I know there's fireworks on pirate night, but our cruises had them on two nights, which was cool. Also, it's not like they spent all their time in the theatre (the Edge and Vibe were bigger draws), but I think they liked that they "could" watch one of the movies if they wanted.

They might play a Star Wars movie here or there, but you will see other Disney movies during that week. I would pull up a non-SWDAS navigator from whatever Fantasy itinerary you are doing as that will give you the best idea of what programming will be available in lieu of the Star Wars offerings.

We have done both Fantasy cruises. The SWDAS had ALL the Star Wars movies being shown at least once, while the non-SWDAS cruise had only the latest SW movie, and others were latest Disney releases, some shown multiple times. So if you were looking to say, see Infinity Wars on a SWcruise, they may only show it once because the theatre is busy showing SW most every day...

Not sure they would have the BB8 races on non-SW cruises - we had never seen it before our SW cruise. They have done the Jedi Training on non=SW cruises but it was only a one-time thing, you showed up early and your kid might get in. THere was like one session only, so if your kid is keen on this, go early, there are no pre-signups on the regular cruise.

Now that you ask, it is kind of strange that the non-Star Wars cruises are devoid of Star Wars aside from showing the latest release a few times. They have Marvel character meet and greets on non-Marvel cruises across the fleet (or at least, definitely the Wonder, so I assume across the fleet). Maybe not enough for a huge fan and certainly not as extensive as a Marvel cruise, but if they regularly do that - then why not have a couple meet and greets with Star Wars characters the same way on non-SW cruises across the fleet?
