Something that everyone can agree on, despite the divided opinion on the last Jedi, is how incredible the cinematography in these films has been. Looks like IX isn’t bucking that trend at all

Here comes all the Rey is a Skywalker theories.

Well where else can it go?! Leia can not survive the movie based on nothing but old footage.

I just don't think kylo can come back from murdering Han.

Or are they? Leia isn't gone. Kylo is still of that bloodline too.

See above.

I'm literally shaking. My husband said he felt bad watching the trailer without our oldest son. I said take him out of school for it. This is huge. I admit, I also teared up a bit. And the ending... No words.

I lol'ed at the 'take him out for it'.

My dad took my friend and I to opening midnight showing of phantom menace and let me skip school the next day.

Well this is the end of the Skywalker trilogy they have been adamant about that. So I do think Leia goes. However Kylo certainly could sort of redeem himself from killing Han. I don't expect him to die in this movie but crazier things have happened.

All work has stopped at my office. Every computer has the trailer playing and everyone is going crazy!!

I wish I worked with you .No one here knows that the world just changed :(

But Rise sounds like a beginning.

Kylo was reforging his helmet of evil intent.

I'm guessing if Kylo didn't see eye to eye with Snoke he won't with the Emperor either. He wants to rule himself.

Well, Anakin redeemed himself after murdering all the Jedi at the temple ... and not just the men but the women and children too!

But my thinking is it relates more in a origin way to the creation of Anakin and the rise of the Skywalker name - which is how it connects to Palpatine and his role with Plaegus and Force creating Anakin, etc.

The wreckage they are walking to - didn't realize it either but suppose that is what it could be

Either that or they are returning the ring to Mordor
I was just watching the Star Wars Show live from Celebration and they were going over the trailer and they pointed out the death star looking piece in the distance which is why I brought it up. Certainly a lot of questions from this teaser and a lot of excitement building.

Completely missed the piece of what appears to be the death star in the final shot of the teaser.

Possibly the Emperor survived Vaders attack and the destruction of the Death Star?

Well, Darth Maul survived getting cut in half so anything is possible ...

... but I think it is more likely that there is something that survived the crash that they have to go and recover - like a Force Sensitive item or holocron or something

That was the film makers mistake. See, I didn't really care about any of the nameless people Anakin killed in Revenge. Did he kill padme? I'm still honestly unclear on that one. Should have had him kill her outright if they really wanted to show his fall.

But kylo killed someone we all know and love.

I think they showed his fall extremely poorly in the prequels so hard for me to really argue the point - from a film makers perspective

Just saying killing a bunch of kids is pretty bad (on paper)
