Star Jones getting divorced

Just one question who is Star Jones?

She was a TV personality on a talk show called The View (with Barbara Walters and some other ladies). She was a lawyer and she also did some work for Court TV (TruTV it is now called).

Some notables about her were the significant weight loss with never admitting to any type of surgery. She also shamelessly promoted her relationship and wedding on The View. She got all this free stuff for a very lavish wedding and she would always promote the sponsors on air. She was essentially fired from The View.

Maybe she should just change her first name from "Star" to "Flop". Or, at least take the middle name "Has been."

Al Reynolds looks more like Al B. Sure and what's up with that Dracula necklace he wore on his wedding day? :confused3

I laugh so hard when these Hollywood couples breakup!

When she was on The View, I hated it when she went on and on about how wonderful he was, and what a terrific couple they were, and how they were going to be together forever. Then she has this ridicously over the top wedding.

I just laugh when people dont realize what hard work it is to be married.
They think their love is so much more special than everyone else's and that they will be together forever. Then most of them dont even last a couple of years.

I cant believe Dwane Wade would be dating her? Seems to me he could do much better.

I CAN NOT STAND Star Jones! Divorce, not a surprise. Anyone who has to have such a big public proposal and then an even bigger public wedding with sponsors isn't really getting married with the right reasons in mind.

Rumor has it that she's seeing Dwayne Wade, star player of the Miami Heat basketnall team. I hope that's not true. I always liked Wade when he played in Milwaukee in college. He was a classy guy and a family man.
I first read that as HE was dating Dwayne Wade, until I read...
D-Wade? He's just a boy! Seems like Charles Barclay would be more her style.
:)

And, she has been out of the spotlight for almost a year now (she was kicked off The View last spring, right?) She must be bored with whatever low-rent cable show she was working on after The View and decided now would be a good time to kick her homosexual husband to the curb and stir up some publicity.
She left The View in June, 2006. I remember because it was all over the news when we were in Virginia Beach for my DS's soccer tournament. Then she went to CourtTV until very recently.

When she left The View, my first thought was that I wouldn't necessarily have chosen her to go over Joy or Elizabeth...all pretty annoying, IMHO. Even Whoopi and Sherry are getting annoying. And Barbara Wawa too. (OK...I DO still watch...but I Tivo it so I can fast forward through the particularly obnoxious parts.)

Golddiggers can STAND a lot---

It amazed me it lasted THIS long. Insiders knew the deal for years, she was living in total denial.
Now he can come COMPLETELY out of the closet and she can come from under that ROCK---

DESPARATION -- it has a horrible odor.... :scared:

IMO, she wasn't in denial at all. I think she waited until what she considered the right time to announce it. It's all about stretching out those 15 minutes as long as possible.

Im not surprised. I thought it was a sham marriage from the beginning, seeing as how if that man isn't gay, no one is. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, but it usually doesn't spell success for a heterosexual union.

I agree.

I got the vibe from the VERY beginning that this was just a sham marriage. Star was feeling old and dried up - lost some weight and wanted to have that blow out dream wedding before she got so damn old having a wedding like that would see ridiculous. She failed because it was ridiculous anyway :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have friends who hang out in the hamptons and swear that the husband is openly gay. (and my friends are gay) Not that this is a bad thing, but everyone there was saying that it was an arrangement and nothing more. Didn't he marry her when she was heavy and she made a ton of money off her "sponsored" wedding? Can't remember.

And it was not ridiculous as it stood? You are way too kind. I just heard on a commercial for Entertainment tonight that there was a twist to this....like we all cannot figure out what it is.

never took her marriage to al all that seriously - surprised it lasted this long...

He always has been. That's what made her declarations that the whole gay thing was just an ugly rumor (even though there were pictures of him "out" and about for years -- the man had a very public track record) so annoying. She got very self righteous about how people were just jealous and hateful and spiteful when ... come ON.

I have friends who knew him for YEARS and they know him as BIG GAY AL... :confused3 That was his name on the streets! They were  when they found out he was marrying Star... I actually felt sorry for her... for a minute.

She began turning people away just to prove THEM wrong. I guess it's time she opened her eyes. It's pathetic.

Jones married investment banker Al Reynolds on November 13, 2004. The much-publicized wedding was held at Saint Bartholomew's Church in New York City in front of 500 guests, and featured three matrons of honor, 12 bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, three best men, 12 groomsmen, three junior groomsmen, six footmen, four ring bearers and four flower girls. More than 30 corporate "sponsors" donated wedding attire and merchandise for the event, in exchange for mentions in the media and on Jones' website.

Women's Entertainment named Jones Reynolds the top bridezilla of 2004.

In 2006, she was a guest on Bob and the Showgram on WDCG 105.1 FM in Raleigh, North Carolina, and when asked about her gastric bypass surgery, she denied having the surgery.

However, in a September 2007 interview in Glamour magazine, she revealed she had gastric bypass surgery in August 2003, resulting in a loss of 160 pounds over three years.

Three years after her marriage to banker Al Reynolds, Jones filed divorce papers March 26, 2008 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.

Wow, it seems things just are not going well for STARLET!!!

:scared1: You can't be serious!!! That would really surprise me. He is so much younger than her, too!!

(I also thought he was married/in a serious relationship with his highschool/college sweetheart and they have a little baby together???)

Well I feel Perez summed it up perfectly,,,,"Well there goes B.G.A's meal ticket" ;)
