Last time I was planning a trip I remember reading here on the DIS that Alamo and National Standard SUVs and Midsize SUVs are the same thing. Is this true? I rented a full size car back then, but now we added another family member and probably need the room of an SUV.

TIA!

I don't think this is the case, but if possible, I'll check tomorrow when I return my car.

From their website: Example of midsize SUV is Chev Equinox, standard SUV is Chev TrailBlazer.

I know -- but when I rented a standard SUV from our airport to use for a family trip it said Chevy Trailblazer -- and they didn't have a Chevy in their entire fleet. I'm not up on car makes and such, but I don't think there was a GM car on the lot! I forget what it says for midsize cars or fullsize cars, but we ended up with a Kia (zippy little car -- LOVED IT!) when we rented from Orlando National in 2006.

One of the tips I learned many years ago from the Disboards was that when you are looking to rent a SUV from Alamo, is to always book the mid-size as you can just hop in a full-size SUV and Alamo does not care nor do they charge you for the full-size one when you return it. :cool1:

Now, I'm just repeating one of the many tips I have learned here and would not necessarily try it :rolleyes1 and I also wouldn't know if it actually works from my past 3 trips to Orlando :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
