Standard room views at AKL?

Would it be safe to say that the parking lots views at the AKL are the standard views that are the least desireable? It looks to me as if they do have numerous rooms in the zebra and kudu trail that have good views that are standard. Many more than I would have ever thought.

So if you were to get a standard view room at the AKL, where would you request to stay at and why?

I believe that some savannah view rooms that overlook the 'people pens' are standard view. I would request one of those. It's better than a parking lot view! You still get to see the animals, just with a fenced in area below you.

We have had a both a people pen room and a room that overlooked the loading area for the busses. Both were fine. On both trips we spent a lot of time in the viewing areas off the lobby.

Think I will go ahead and splurge for a pool view room if we get to stay there. Not only for a pool view, but to be close to the lobby, transportation, ect.

We had a standard view overlooking the front of the hotel. I asked to be near the lobby and was a 45 second walk away, so you don't need a pool
View room to be close to the lobby. Our view was lousy granted, but that was what I paid for. There are lots of places to view the animals and for a 10 day stay I couldn't afford to stay in a Savannah view room.

I'm sure this is somewhere but where do you find a map that shows the location of the standard rooms?

I had a standard room last July and asked for Kudu trail and I had a great view. Here is a link of my room last year!

We will be there in 2 days and I booked a standard room again and I asked for the same things Kudu trail and upper floor! My fingers and toes are crossed for a similar room again. Really hoping I didn't jinx us by saying that out loud!

We had standard room 4486 off the Zebra Trail. I just asked for anything but a parking lot view and that's what we got. Corner room, end of a hallway near stairs that lead right to the pool. We had a partial Uzima Savanna view and overlooked one of the hot tubs. Great room!
