Does anyone know what is considered the standard/city view at the GC?

We had to book thru getawaytoday since my dates were not available on WDT(Waited too long to book:mad: ). I have requested a theme park view, but they say it is not guaranteed. We usually ask for rooms in the 302 to 324 range.

I was looking at the map and it seems that they may be the rooms on the left (133 down to 217) and maybe the rooms overlooking the garden (164 around to 417) It seems like all the other rooms would be DTD view or theme park view. (I could not find the link to the map, I am looking at a printed one.)

Anyone have a standard room and love the view? Please share your room number!

Thanks everyone!

I had a standard room, and I believe I was ... 413? I can't remember at the moment to be perfectly honest. My view was ... well, the hotel really. Reight above where the monorail passes through. I have photos somewhere.

We had a family reunion there a couple of years ago and we all booked a standard/city view room. Our room and my parents(right next door to us) had a balcony which faced the entry/valet of the hotel with the door opening to the great hearth. My 2 sisters each had a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard/monorail area. I don't remember room numbers but we loved being able to open our door each morning to the great hearth.

The standard view/city view is usually the one looking out towards the street or entrance into the hotel. They also have told us the courtyard is a standard view. When I have booked standard, that is usually what we receive (courtyard). The Downtown Disney view is a more expensive than the standard/courtyard view. We have enjoyed it and it's very quiet we closed the sliding glass door. We have had all views and honestly we have never been disappointed. We always ask for a high floor, whatever the view, and they have been accomodating.

We love the courtyard view. It is so peaceful out there, and we sit on our balcony and watch the monorail go by, which is amazingly quiet. We did have a view once of the valet parking area, but I thought that was interesting to watch. Theme park views can vary too, I've had really great views of Paradise Pier or Grizzly River, and I've had views of the pool. I've seen pools before, I'd rather see the park. Downtown Disney views also vary. We've had a really nice view over the Jamba Juice store and could open our window and listen to the violinist down below. We've also had a pretty horrible view of the parking tram loading area from on top of the World of Disney store.

I usually ask now for a room on the 5th floor, in the part of the hotel near the lobby, not Napa Rose. I felt like I was in a totally different place when I entered the hotel through the elevators near Napa Rose, and I love the main lobby very much. I like being able to hear the pianist. I either have a standard view (courtyard preferred), or a theme park view away from the pool.

The first time I stayed there I got a theme park view. I was overlooking at first a rook top but after being moved I was facing The river rapids ( I still don't know that exact name. I got a standard view this time but gave in to a DTD view for 30 more a nights, they looked like nice rooms. well see. I think no matter what view you get it will be nice except for the roof top room I got and paying top dollar. I love that hotel, everyone is so nice and the location is terrific Have a FUNtastic time no matter where your room is, don't forget your in DL. :cool1:

We just got back from GC, and although we didn't have a standard room, I loved our view and thought I would share. It was room 5304 and had a view of both the CA park and the pool.

I just booked thru getawaytoday too! Could someone explain how and when I should ask for a specific room? I don't care at all about the view but it would be nice to be able to see the main lobby. I also would like to be in the part of the hotel that is closest to DTD assuming standard view rooms are available in that part of the hotel.

Thanks!
