Stalking since October....

We are leaving on January 1 for a week.

This trip I could only get a studio since did a GV last year, borrowed, and had two trips already this year.

Just wanted to say there is hope in stalking.

Since October, I have been able to get full weeks at SSR then moved us to OKW. Then AKL Kidani opened and I moved us. That I pieced together for the full week.

Poly standard opened, I booked six nights and it killed me to have to pay the OTU points so I canceled it and restalked Kidani for the week. Took three ressies but got them merged yesterday for the week.

I could have easily three, possibly four times, pieced together BWV P/G view but it was always two days here and there but I could have done it. Next time but with only five days to go it may still open up.

Looking today, BRVs opened for the full week. In all my stalking these past couple of months, Ive never seen more than a day pop up, maybe..so I moved us again lol since Kidani has been fairly easy to get twice this past month.

Also, one day last week,the first full two weeks of Poly LB opened up.

Ive had WLs but stalking has won for me but not giving up hope on BWVs although I know a pipe dream. I could have booked 4 nights at BWVs and 3 at BC today but I would have had to modify my full week, pick up four nights, do that change and then go back for the BC and was too nervous and Im really not a split stay person, but I would have been okay with that one.

Thanks for reading. Unless you are a stalker, Im not sure you can appreciate but it was fun and worth it even though I keep changing our scooter rental, food and Mears lol

Just this week I changed one way of transportation for less cost & more fun (flyer), a park (more options) & scored a value room (more space, fun & adventure). I am not complacent. Lolz

Last night when I saw the four nights at BWVs I was too nervous to modify, get the rooms
Ans then get the BC rooms but today, right now, the following two days of BW are available and I would have had six nights and just missing the last night ggggrrrrrr

But with four days left, not gojng to chance it but between last night and tonight, I could have had six consecutive days.

Glad to hear about your success! I'm going to need to do some SERIOUS stalking to try and piece something together at WDW for the end of Feb/beginning of March. Getting 100 points that will expire at the end of March with a new resale contract.

Good job! I am a serial stalker and love the challenge...have even offered to "improve" a reservation for my renters. Latest conquest...had to cancel my December holiday plans and decided to use my flight credits for an early Feb. trip. Between Sunday night and this morning, I have pieced together a split stay with first 2 nights at RIV Tower Studio and last 3 nights at Jambo Value Studio for a grand total of 51 points for a 6-day/5-night vacation. This may be my lowest point total ever for this length of stay! I am not having such luck with dining reservations though, but I may go for the Table Service mobile ordering option for restaurants that have it.

Yay! I would have loved to be able to score a BW standard over the Jambo value studio. I agree there are people cancelling and lots waiting in the wings to scoop up the more desirable resort/room categories. I see more 1-BR availablility for Feb than studio availability likely due to people switching as studios open up with cancellations. We got rewarded by being diligent with our stalking!

Stalking definitely helps vs the waitlist if you are open to most anything. With only 2 waitlists you can miss your entire time opening up elsewhere especially at a place you never figured would become available. And from stalking you also learn that getting a last minute reservation is far from impossible. It just may not be fast.

Another staking beats the waitlist success story here! We canceled our January Beach Club 9 day stay for a Vero Beach stay in July. I started to have FOMO as we probably would not have made to Disneyworld before the 50th was over.

I stalked the availability calendar and was able to book 7 nights back at BCV for late May but wanted one more night so went on the waitlist. I check constantly and was able to snag the missing night and canceled the waitlist this evening. I would not have even known about the benefits of staking if not for this board. So thanks you stalkers!!

Congrats to all! What fabulous stories!

While I wish I could just book and be happy....well, I'm absolutely more than happy whatever I book, I book what I can and stalking has worked extremely well for me.

Will need to book for October for four nights in a studio at GF, Poly or BLT and then want to switch for a week at BWVs and this will need diligent stalking but I'm fairly optimistic. I know there are many on here that say it is close to impossible, and maybe with a WL it is, but as we all know, it can work if we stay on top of it.

This is a lovely heartwarming tale lol. I completely agree. Sometimes… I think I have just as much fun booking (and switching around!) my trip as I do going on it. Lately there has been a lot of movement. I’m part of many Canadian groups and every time someone mentions canceling their March trip, I check the RAT.
