He's leading a division of 10's of thousands of people. He has to set the tone. Making appearances in the parks is a great way to show you care.

right…internally….

externally - the street and the huge pension funds that gobble up disney (its a myth that moms and dads are the primary stock holders) likes the fact that disney parks are guaranteed to reap money year in and year out….mostly based on pathetically cheap merchandise (back to china…we go)…and a guy trying to make his case that his columbia mba is capable of leading - lets face it - one of the most famous, recognizable, one of the most profitable companies on earth…not to mention entertainment…knows he looks good to those "honorable men and women" when word gets around he will protect the cash cow of the parks and shows up for smiles and an occasional ride on dumbo.

i think he's boring and he'll continue to bleed the product…but i don't think he's stupid

Really, part of me thinks it's a moot point, anyway without a shakeup of the BoD. They're conditioned to this current strategy, obviously like this current strategy, and as importantly - what happens with Iger and his BoD status post- riding off into the sunset. Lots of Gorillas still in the room, no matter who's head honcho.....
