
As for the Pilates stuff...please be careful and make sure that you keep the following in mind...
1. IF you feel pinching or pain in your back....stop immediately.
2. At this point I'd recommend that you do NOT do "rolling like a ball", "neck pull", "spine twist". Also be careful with any of the twisting exercises, just be sure to listen to your body. You can do pilates...i have many clients with lower lumbar back injury such as yours...just proceed carefully

3. If at any time you feel your back "arching" then you are lowering your legs to much during an exercise. If you feel that arching...it means you are putting too much stress/load on the lower lumber. Be sure to pull the abs in and bring your legs in closer to your body and lower them to only 45 degrees...no lower than that!!!
