Stacie's Journey for Weight Loss and the 1/2 Marathon Jan 09!

Hi there Stacie! Way to get out there for the 4 miler :). It's always more impressive to get out there and move on days when it's the LAST thing we want to do.

So tell me about the Aqua Pilates. I'm so curious. It sounds awesome!!!

I hope you have a nice weekend :goodvibes .

Well done on getting the long walk/run in :)
Have a great weekend :)

Great job on the 4 miler, Stacie! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Stacie,

Great job getting right back into the exercise thing.

Have a great weekend,
Beth

Stacie,
Great job out there but 80 degrees that is not fair at all,I pray for 40!!!!!!!!
Keep up the motivation. That is so the battle.
Linda

Hello all! Yes, we have some very nice temps, but they are gone now... Only in the 40s today.

Last week was not a good week for training. Here's how it rounded out...

Monday: Nothing--so lazy! Arrgh!
Tuesday: 30 min aquapilates, 30 min aquacise
Wednesday: 4 miles, 1 hour
Thursday: Zip
Friday: Zero
Saturday: Nothing yet again…sigh
Sunday: 3.6 walk/run, 50 min.

I did finish strong yesterday so I am happy for that.

My plan is to go to the gym tonight for some XT (Elliptical and biking). Matt said he would go too so we both brought our clothes with us to work so we can go straight there after my chiro appointment.

Weekend was good. My brother was in from Mexico so we had dinner w/ the fam on Friday night, Saturday we went to a bon-fire and Sunday we had a wedding.

Last week at work was :scared1: Sooo busy!!! I really hope this week is better! One of my bosses is now off to China, India and Russia and now that I'm done w/ his Visa and travel, I should have a bit of a break.

Thanks everyone for continuing to check in. I really appreciate all your support!

Stacie

Hey lovely team mate!

I can't believe what a hectic time at work you've been having. Really hope this week's a bit calmer so that you actually feel like headin out for some exercise. It's so hard when you're exhausted isn't it!

Do not feel at all disappointed with what you did this week, walt's warriers and the whole wish team are all feeling very proud.

Hi Stacie,

I think you did a great job with your workouts last week, especially considering how busy work was for you. :thumbsup2 I'm glad to hear that your week ahead looks much calmer than last week. :goodvibes

Keep up the good work and have a great week!

Stacie, I think you did pretty darn good last week. Coming home from a trip is always hard. You still worked out three times so that is great. In the old days, you would have been thrilled to work out that much! This week is a new week. Sounds like you have yucky weather, will spring ever get here? Keep up your hard work!

Hey Stacie,

I'm waiting impatiently for Spring to arrive. You did great last week, and I am sure now that things have settled a bit at work. You will be back into your routine in no time.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Satacie
sounds like you had a fun filled weekend :)
Roll on Spring!!

It's raining...I'm supposed to run... It's 45 degrees and a COLD rain... Does that count as an ice bath??? :confused3

Is it crazy that I WANT to run in the rain? I never have and for some odd reason, I'd really like to today! I just don't want to get my shoes a wet and soggy. They are my good and only pair of running shoes. I don't want to do anything to mess them up!

Do you know what? One of my most enjoyable runs was in a light misty rain- it felt so nice and i felt like a 'real' runner too :rotfl: Go for it

running in the rain would cool you down!!!
Sounds kinda fun ;)

Hi Stacie,

Happy Valentine's Day! Did you decide to run yesterday?

Hope you have a great day ahead!

Nice work there Stacie!

Although the cold rain is not pleasant to run in, I do enjoy running in the rain from time to time...it cools you off and is kind of fun to boot :goodvibes:

I've sploshed in mud a few times so I can totally relate to not wanting to get the shoes all messed up...I had the last pair about 3 days before I turned the shiny white parts into a reddish shade of brown.

Besides, might as well get used to it...that way if it rains during any of your races, you'll already be prepared :)

Here's a more in depth--in the rain run story.

So, it was raining yesterday. It was my day to run (well, walk/run). I've never wanted to run in the rain before. Heck no, to the TM I go. Well, for some reason, yesterday was different. I just had this desire to get out there and get wet. Matt had a Dr appointment in Wilson yesterday. We got there and I went in and changed clothes. My parents live about 3-3.5 miles away. I told Matt I was going to run to their house. He looked at me like I was insane. Let's just say he was not too thrilled about me running on a 5 lane highway. I told him that if when he got done, and he saw me, to stop and I'd get in the car w/ him. So...to make a long story short, I ran 2 miles in 28 minutes before he picked me up. I acutally walked more than I ran, which is ok. It was actually a good place to run as I could be on flat ground just off the highway (althought I was in people's yards! No sidewalk) I wasn't too close to traffic and I could actually see a little path where it seems someone must run/walk in the same area. After he picked me up, we got to my mom and dad's neighborhood and he dropped me off at the front of the subdivision. I got in another mile for a total of 3 miles/45min.

I actually had a great time running the rain. There was this cleansing effect it had on me. I hate getting all hot and sweaty so in the rain, you just get wet. You don't feel sweaty at all! As the cars passed, I kinda giggled to myself wondering what those folks were thinking...(This girl is crazy!)

Granted, I wouldn't want to do this everyday, but occassionally, I don't think it would be too bad at all! :goodvibes

Hopefully my shoes will dry out and still fit ok. I've washed a pair of shoes before and they never fit the same after... I hope since these just got soaked in the rain and I let them sit out and dry vs. sticking them in the washing machine, they will be ok. They are my newest and most expensive pair!

Tonight I will do a step class for 45 minutes (which is suposed to be a rest day). I could take Saturday as my rest day, but that leaves one XT day out so I'm not sure what I will do yet...

Stacie
