St. Valentine's Day Gifts

I have always wondered what it is about St. Valentine's Day that causes men to feel obligated to buy their SO some form of gift.

Flowers, chocolates, cards and now (inspired by all the ads from jewelers) diamonds.

Can anyone explain to me what is it that makes women "need" diamonds? :confused3

It's simple: bare fingers, bare earlobes, and a bare neckline. :rotfl2:
Or the look from the corner of her eye right after a Zales commercial

Just remember: EVERY kiss begins with Kay. No Kay, no kiss.

I dont "need" diamonds. Heck, I dont even want them. If my sweetie wants to get me something for Valentine's Day, he can get me an oil change for my car, get me my tires rotated, or get me my car detailed. Thats what I "need" for Valentine's Day.

I agree. Frankly, the only time I was interested in Valentine's Day was when I was dating and in relationships where I needed that extra reassurance as to where I stood. DH and I are a bit beyond that and would rather use our money differently. If DH bought me jewelry I'd be really cheesed off because I've been wanting a pressure washer to get rid of moss around the outside of the house and he knows it!

I have to agree as well. I mentioned to my DH that I had to get over to LensCrafters because I lost my sunglasses. Well not only did he take DD out for a while to give me some alone time but he also went and ordered a replacement pair for me. Now that's what love is about  .

I'm with you. I bought myself way more jewelry when I was working than I can wear. Now I like practical stuff. In fact, I already got my Valentine's Dady gift last week......one of those talking GPS thingies so I don't get lost. He must love me because he wants to make sure I make it back home :yay:

Then again maybe he is just afraid if I don't show back up he will have to do his own laundry. :rotfl2:
