My DH and I live in St. Peters. We have never lost power. My parents and brother live in Woodson Terrace. They still do not have power. My cousins live in Overland. They too are without power.
I went to work last night even though the power was out. I work in IT and they wanted someone there in case the power came back on. Not a real bright thought there. Security said that is a no no. No lights except an emergency light, door was propped open and the restrooms were pitch black. No water because of the boil order and no ventilation. And someone thought it was a good idea to have someone there all night in case the power came back on. Thank goodness our security folks intervened and said no this is a safety and security issue. Left after about a half hour. My DH is a manager at one of the grocery chains. He worked from noon yesterday and got home at 06:00am this morning. They lost power, it came back on, they lost it again and then came back on. They just kept pulling the perishables back and forth for all those hours.
I have lived in this area my whole life and this is the most craziness I have seen in a very long time. (Except for the blizzard of 82) and that was a whole different craziness.
