sssssnakes-the real thing

I'm really creeped out now!! I use a half a can of raid on a little spider (or prefer that someone else takes care of it)

This past fall I was coming home from work and I had a snake crawl out of my defroster vents on my dashboard. I pulled over and grabbed my neice out of her carseat. A neighboor went by and asked if my car broke down (as we were waiting on the side of the road-- I wasn't sure what I was gonna do). Anyhow, I said yes (I didn't want them to just get the snake out-- as I wasn't getting back in that car). They offered to take me home. They are reaching in getting the car seat out and all I can stare at is the snake in the front seat (they never saw it!!) Anyhow, we get home and DH goes and gets the car and removes the snake. I have not been back in that car since. I won't get back in. DH and I had to switch vehilces after that!!!

I have been to TL twice. Even after seeing another thread on this board about snakes being common at the waterparks. I did do the lazy river. I kept my eyes peeled and thankfully didn't see any. It was on my mind, but it didn't ruin my time there.

I saw a snake on the sidewalk between the Food Court and Andy's Room at ASMo and DS8 hardly swam in the ASMo pool because he was so intrigued by the many geckos around the base of the giant Sorcerer Mickey beside the pool! We don't have a lot of lizards in Minnesota!

We saw a snake in the lazy river ride at Blizzard Beach. In fact, my son was ahead of us and as I turned a bend (or something) I noticed him off his tube talking to a CM who was standing on the "bank". The CM was instructing my son to hand him the snake! AND MY SON DID!!!!!

Still wanna know what kind of snakes we are talking about. Anybody know?

On the two occasions that I have seen black snakes at WDW, they looked like Racers to me. They are slender black snakes w/ white chins, they tend to range from 2-5 ft. long. Racers are not poisonous, but if you harass them or corner them, they can bite. It's about the same injury level as a bite from a kitten, they have a couple of sharp little teeth.

Mostly I've seen little green garter snakes; those are totally harmless unless it's possible to be gummed to death.

Kilee sounds like a very sensible person to me.

I'm not worried about dying from a poisonous snake it's the cardiac arrest that will kill me...

That or the next time I run into the street to avoid a snake, a car might be coming!
