Hi Kathy!
I was way too many pages behind and just read the update on Cookie. I'm so sorry to hear this. How is she doing lately? I hope things are going well and she's not in pain!

Happy Anniversary! What amazing, beautiful flowers you received...and what fantastic friends you have. I love the DIS!

Your ADRs are sounding great. I had forgotten your trip overlaps with Mary's - how FUN!!!! Those girls are going to love seeing you again!

Happy belated anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful flowers :goodvibes

I am very jealous of your Captains Grille ressie, I wanted to dine there so badly in august and it just didn't work out. I've heard nothing but good things about the dinner.

We added another ADR tonight (we're going to end up paying a couple of them out of pocket). But after talking to Mary (MaryAZ), we realized she had no "nice" dinners with Cayley and Avery's grandma and grandpa planned and we've all been wanting to try Captain's Grille, so we are having dinner there at 5 p.m. right before we go to the MNSSHP. Mary and I are real excited to try this because we've heard great things about it.

That sounds wonderful! I hear the food there is really great! And what an awesome resort!

I am anxious to hear about Captains Grill. I have never been either... and I don't see it talked about much on DIS... but I am considering it for our December trip.

I"m pretty sure that the Captain's Grill is one of Cynthia's Clan's favorite places. And that they've always loved it there. I remember a pretty good review she gave of it a while back too. I wonder if I could find it for you?

Hi, Brook; I thought I'd lost you. (:

Cookie is doing fine; she is in no pain and is eating good. We take it one day at a time.

I love the DIS (most of the time) too! I've met great people here.

Poor Mary may be tired of us by the time we are done -- two meals together, swimming twice, MNSSHP, etc. :rotfl::rotfl:

Happy belated anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Cynthia. It was a nice anniversary and the flowers are still beautiful (not one has died yet).

Happy Belated Anniversary!!!

Thank you, Sophia.

Good Morning Kathy! Love ya!!!

Good morning (well, I guess it is afternoon now) sunshine; love you too!

That sounds wonderful! I hear the food there is really great! And what an awesome resort!

Remind me...is Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club (I forgot to note it down in my notes).

I will probably do a dining review this year since I don't think I did one last year (or maybe I did, but I didn't do as much of one as I usually do).

If you find it, let me know. Thanks, Leisa.

Kathy, if you need advice about the Captain's Grill - may I help? :rotfl2: I sound like there is NO restaurant we haven't been to yet! :lmao:

We ate there 3 years ago and the food was VERY good, but we had lousy service!!!!!!!!!
Last fall some friends of mine at there and they really enjoyed the food, (they had lunch and dinner - not on the same day though) and they were pretty pleased with the service and LOVED the food!

And yes, it IS at the Yacht Club!

Okay, now going back to catch up! ;)

All caught up again!

First - HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the Nicki updates - can't wait for her trip report to start!

Um, and I was NOT aware you are not allowed to post about real life events! Thank god we did take pics of Disney related things as well in Italy! :goodvibes

Just catching up.

We ended up adding dinner at the Captain's Grill and it was great. The best service of the trip and very good food. I didn't make an adr there b/c I was afraid DH would think YC was too upscale or CG was too fancy but he ended up liking both the resort and dinner. I added it last minute once DH announced that he refused to walk back to EPCOT for Via Napoli. We were actually going to go there again the next night but on our walk over Beaches and Cream had no wait so we went there instead.

On the other hand we also went to Mama Melrose and had the worst service of the trip. The food wasn't that great and I have removed Mama Melrose from our list of places to eat for the next couple of trips. DHS was very busy and it was SWW, but all the other restaurants seemed to be able to keep up:confused3

Happy Anniversary!

Captain's Grill sounds like a great addition to your plans. I hope it's as good as all the reviews!

I can't wait to try it.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. And thanks for your thoughts on Captain's Grille. I'm not a fan of the Yacht Club (I do like the Beach Club though) and we've only visited once. Is it on the main floor off the lobby?

Just catching up.

Happy Anniversary!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes, Diane. I'm glad to hear that you guys like Captain's Grille (I'll be watching for your review on the dining thread).

See, we've never had bad service at Mama Melrose. I think we'll stick with it as I have a taste for the calamari.

So I rode the train today and TOTALLY redid our entire itinerary. And I've decided that we just don't have enough time on our trip. SO without telling Mark (it will be a surprise), I'm going to add tickets for our departure day and we will go the Magic Kingdom after our Kona breakfast and then won't start the drive to Marco Island until late afternoon (3 or 4 p.m.).

I'll post the "new" Day 1 either later this afternoon or tonight when I get home.

Nothing beats more Disney time!! WOOT WOOT!!! Sounds like a great plan to me!
