SSR to VWL?

Hey guys!



We currently own 200 SSR points. Is it true that you can buy direct from DVC for VWL?...As I am only 25 and DF 26 I am more interested in the length of our contract vs location which is why we bought SSR and not a resale for less time.....I dont want to buy VWL as I am hoping for AKL to go DVC at which time I expect to buy at least another 200pts....I guess what I am wondering is if there is a way to sell back to DVC and repurchase at VWL????? Actually that sounds kinda silly now that I put it in writing and probably not possible!

I am probably living in a dream world but it is Disney after all!

Disney will not purchase your existing SSR contract. You would have to sell it on the resale market (minus commissions) and then purchase VWL either through Disney or the resale market.

But I don't understand your plan. You said that length of contract is more important than location, and the only contract with 2054 finish is SSR. All others expire in 2042.

Also, you said you really want AKL. And you said "I don't want to buy VWL"......so why are you asking about buying VWL?

I would suggest either 30 or 60 points.

60 points is enough to stay in a studio for 5 days during Adventure season...at VWL.

25 points even doubled isn't...

I own a different places. only small contract but enough for those Dec stays when it is just about impossible to get 'em without owning there.

Just to offer another clarification, the contract length is exactly the same whether one purchases it from Disney or on the resale market. If you purchase VWL via resale, the contract expires Jan 31, 2042. If you purchase add-on points at VWL through Disney, that add-on contract expires on exactly the same day. Similarly for SSR. If you purchase SSR through Disney, your contract expires Jan 31, 2054. If you purchase an SSR contract on the resale market, it expires on exactly the same day. So buying from Disney vs. the resale market does not get you a longer contract.

To OP - Why?
You do realize you can make ressie wherever you want. In fact, we are staying at VWL end of August. We just bought at SSR in May.

Why don't you just buy your add on at SSR? 12 years is a long time.
