Hi everybody. We are heading to the World next Friday for our first stay at SSR. We have always stayed at our home resort at BWV, but decided to try something new. We have a two bedroom lock-off. I'd love to have a view of DTD or water.

I am totally infamiliar with SSR. What are the areas we should be keeping an eye out for (knowing that we probably won't have much, if any choice) or avoiding?

Thanks for the help!

Our favorite area is Congress Park. That is where you will get the best view of DTD, with a very short walk there as well. CP is a little far from the pool and main buildings...but if you are used to walking in Disney, it won't be a problem.

The Springs is the other desirable section. That is a longer walk to DTD with little or no view, but it is close to everything (pool, spa, gym, Artist Pallette).

It really depends on what you want most. We love Congress Park and would advise you to give it a try.

It seems like almost all of the villas do have a view of some water, just from the way the resort is laid out. Apparently there are good things about every area of SSR, though. Even if you end up in the Paddocks, which seems to be the least frequently requested area, you get to be first on and off the bus!

Can you call SSR ahead of time with your requests or do you just request when you get there? Also how early can you try to check in?

We requested the "Springs" section when we called & made reservations for our May 2007 trip.

Has anyone previously made room requests and got what they wanted? I am hoping to check in around 12:00 or 1:00.

make any requests ahead of time, seems to be better if they have a note of your needs already on the system.

Twice I got it one I did not!!!
