I'll be looking to book at SSR in a few months. We visited this resort at Christmas time, but we've never stayed there. I'd prefer to stay in a building that is most convenient to walking to DS at will, preferably with a nice view but that's secondary. Does anyone have any recommendations for which building (or room) is best for this?

Thanks

In 2017 SSR has a preferred category, and a standard category. The section that is best for walking to Disney Springs is in the Preferred Category, Congress Park.

So if you want to walk to DS at will, book Preferred, then request Congress Park.

For a Standard, you end up rolling the dice requesting the south end of The Paddock, and getting it won't be guaranteed.

Thanks. How long of a walk is it from this building to The Artist's Palette? Is it quicker to just eat at DS?

There are multiple buildings on Congress Park (or any section of SSR).

It is a shorter walk to the small QS at The Paddock feature pool than to Artist's Palette. It's also about 5-10 minutes into the heart of Disney Springs.

We like the Grandstand area for a variety of reasons. It isn't the closest to a walkway to DS, but it's next door to the Carriage House, and there's a boat dock just behind there where you can catch a boat to DS. The Grandstand is also the first bus stop for the resort, so you're virtually guaranteed a seat even on a busy morning, and you'll be the first dropped off at the end of the day when all you want to do is get to your room. It also has a very nice pool with a snack bar and children's area.

There is also boat service from behind the main check in building. Across the road from the Springs Area of SSR. Also bus service that runs a constant loop around the SSR resort and to Disney Springs.

Thanks, but we're walking people so I'm looking for the names of the buildings nearest the walkway. Anyone know of a good map so I can see it visually?

The buildings nearest the walkway are Congress Park.

The individual buildings are not named.

When we were there we asked for Congress Park but it was full so they searched and found us a nice studio across from Congress Park and the bus stop. It was great. Short walk to the bus stop and the pool and nice walk to DS. Loved it. So if they say Congress Park is full ask for the closest they can get you to it.

We are not staying at SSR, but have friends who are on our October trip. If they have ADR's at DS, I take it the "preferred" room request is Congress Park ?:confused3 About how far of a walk is it to DS from this section? Congress Park has its own pool, but it looks close enough to the main pool correct? THANKS in advance!:goodvibes:wave2:

The standard/preferred view points don't start until 1/1/2017. Preferred view is Congress Park and Springs locations, all others are standard.
