SSR questions - check in / DxDP / DS / bus...

Been a while since I stayed in SSR. We have split stays. 2 adults + 7 yr old. 2nd part of stay is in SSR (DVC). Will have DxDP during SSR stay. I have a few questions:

1. Upon checking out of 1st stay, we plan to head to MK for breakfast on DxDP. I plan to do online check in to SSR. Can I also pick up refillable mug at 1st hotel ~ 7am and activate them under SSR DxDP? Will need caffeine.

2. Should I bother checking in 'physically' during the first day? We will be in park for fireworks so will be very late arriving at SSR. Should I leave the park alone to pick up keys..etc in the afternoon?

2. We have preferred 1 bdrm. We want to spend time at both Padlock pool and the Horseshoe pool (the main pol by lobby). I plan to request The Springs 41xx - 43xx (top left of Springs on the map). Good? Bad? Congress Park seems far from pools.

3. How bad is the bus schedule? How much time to allocate going to MK for an 8 am breakfast? Or a 6 pm dinner? Will the bus be so packed that you can't get on? Will it be better to walk to Disney Spring and take bus from there?

4. Do they have boat to Disney Spring late morning? I am thinking about having lunch there before my Magic Express pick up time around 1pm.

1. If everything works correctly, yes.

2. You won't need to "pick up keys." You should have the Magic bands by that point?

3. Springs is probably the better request.

4. Bus is fine, but for an 8AM breakfast from SSR you do want to be at the bus stop no later than 7. Allow 60-90 minutes anywhere on property, including dinner. There are no buses from Disney Springs to the theme parks.

5. Yes, boat runs late morning.

Thank you. You're right, I forgot there are no more keys. I feel old. We'll have the bands.

We had poor bus service recently at SSR. While waiting for an MK bus in the morning, several other buses came and went. We opted for the Minnie Van.
