SSR or OKW

I need your help. Talked DH into a December trip, but can not get into our "home" at BCV. We can get the 2br we need (4 adults and 3 children) at SSR or OKW. Has anyone stayed at both? Let me know what you think.

To me, it depends upon the age of your children. If they are fairly young, I'd go with OKW for the extra room and quiet atmosphere. If they are older, they would probably enjoy SSR being closer to Downtown Disney shops and restaurants.

OKW has larger rooms than SSR, and for the savings in points over SSR, it would be my first pick. But like I said, older kids would probably like the SSR location better. You may also like SSR better because it has more of a "food court", OKW has mainly a sit down restaurant with a small outside snack bar.

I agree with Chuck. My personal preference is OKW, but it's awfully laid back for teens and young adults. They tend to think of it as an "old folks' home". I love it to dealth, though, especially overlooking the golf course. You won't see anything funnier than the way some people play golf!

SSR has a "zero entry" type pool, OKW does not. OKWs slide is themed like a giant sand castle. I haven't been to SSRs pool, so I don't know what their slide is like.

I'd go with OKW for the extra room. Have you stayed in a 2BR at BCV with that many people? If you were happy with it then SSR will work for you also. I have stayed at both OKW ( studio, 1BR, 2BR and GV) and SSR (studio) and just think the extra room in the central living areas with children that age would be my deciding factor. We found it somewhat crowded at BCV in 2BR with 5 adults and 1 18mo. The room size at SSR is about the same as BCV. The pool at SSR does have zero entry and a slide for smaller children as well as the main slide. I guess it depends on how much time you plan on spending at the pool how important that becomes. Don't think you could go wrong with either but, given your kids are on the younger side, I would go with OKW for the extra space.
