We will be getting to SSR around Noon. First time staying there. Any suggestions that we should ask for when we get there? Are the Water view or DTD really far away from the main building or bus stops. I just don't want to ask for something and kind of screw myself on distance. Thanks everyone.

We didn't think eother of our 2 stays were that far away from anything. It really depends on what you mean by far.

Our paddocks stay in June was across the bridge from the main building but not far from the second bus stop so that was a plus.

Our Congress Park stay in Dec was the perfect location for us walked down the steps and right at the bus stop out the back side and right on the path to DTD.Cut through the pool area and right at the main buildings.

Now with that said we are walkers by nathure and walk all day at the parks from the time they open to the time they close.

Springs can get you the closest to the the main building and you could get a lake view . The only downfall of that is that it is the last bus stop

Sounds like you were in the same building as we were. I was prepared for lengthy walks after reading all of the posts about how large this resort is but was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be so managable. I didn't think anything was all that far to get to and I have problems with my legs. We loved our rooms in Congress Park. The view was spectacular. This whole resort is just beautiful in my opinion.

We just stayed there earlier this month. (Room 1541 - Congress Park)

First the Bus Stops in order of Pickup and drop-off when we were there was:
  1. Carousel
  2. Paddock
  3. Congress Park
  4. Springs

  • The main buildings (restaurants) are closest to the springs.
  • There is a bridge between the Paddock and Springs sections, so if you stay at the Springs, the Paddock Bus station is a short walk.
  • Congress Park is a short walk to DTD.
  • Boat to DTD launches from the main buildings which are closest to the Springs.
It all depends on whats important to you. DTD, the main buildings, bus seat. I'm planning on staying in the Springs this time so we can be closer to the restaurant.

I would recommend calling them the day of arrival and reminding them of your request. We requested a DTD view 11 months out and were a bit disappointed that we were not able to get it. I know theres no guarantee, but I think you have a better chance if you call.
Good Luck.

Our first stay at SSR was from Dec 9-15. We told the CM at check-in what our preferences were "second or third floor, a nice view preferably of water" and let her show us on the map what she would suggest. We went with her recommendation and took a second floor studio in the Paddock 6100 block. End unit with a view of swans in the pond, the fountain to our left and bridge to the Springs to our right. We loved the room and the walk to the Main Pool, Artists Pallete etc.. was 8 minutes at a slow pace.

DD and I will be at SSR in a mere 11 days!:cool1: This is indeed a timely thread for me! :) DD is less of a walker than I am, so I should probably ask for something in the Springs to be close to the bus, right? This is our first time at SSR and I'm really looking forward to it.

By the way, she's 14-will she be allowed in the gym/sauna areas? TIA!
