Tomorrow will be our first time staying at SSR. We are staying 4 nights and are not doing the parks at all. We are planning on a relaxing pool vacation. ( hopefully the pools are heated because it is going to be mid 60's) Are there any must do's at this resort? Kids ages are 15, 10, and 8. Thanks =)

The pools are heated to 82. We always head over to Ghirahelli at Disney Springs and get an ice cream.

We have stayed at SSR twice and really enjoyed both stays.

Like Donna said, the pool is great. Our kids really love it. It has a zero depth entry if that will help at all and the water slide is a blast. They also have pool games every day.

If your kids are into doing crafts at all the community center by the pool has a lot of different activities they can do. Some are free but some have an extra charge attached to them.

They also have DVD's available to borrow to watch in your room.

Have fun!!!

Walk to OKW on canal is really nice if you like walking and it's not too hot.

Pick up sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich and eat them in your villa or by the pool.

"Only" 2 of the 4 pools at SSR have zero depth entry and slides, Springs and Paddock.
Definitely spend time at both of those feature pools.

Walking to Disney Springs is great. (There are actually 2 paths, the most common one by Congress Park, and the other is near the Boat dock/Golf shop)
If I was spending a bunch of time at SSR, I'd probably try a boat trip (departs on the bridge between SSR and Rainforest) to PORFQ and eat some beignet's.

Just to confirm, there's no boat directly from SSR (or OKW) to POR, is there? I was under the impression that you had to take one boat to DS, then change to another to get to POR.

Correct. The SSR boat dock just goes to Springs Westside and treehouses.

But the Marketplace dock (where boats go to POR) at Disney Springs is closer to SSR's Congress Park than the actual SSR boat dock.

when we stayed at SSR we would head out on an evening to Disney Springs and enjoy the live music there was some great musicians

The Paddock pool slide is waaaay better than the Springs pool slide. We really like borrowing the shuffleboard equipment and playing shuffleboard. They also have shufflepuck in the activity center which we also enjoy.

We just got back Thursday. We stayed 6 nights no parks. My second time here at SSR no parks and hubby's first. Take the time to explore SSR. Try a different pool each day at the resort. Paddock pool is great with the younger ones but gets full fast (on the small side). Everything has already been mentioned. Head out to OKW in the morning for breakfast or just a stroll and check it out. Miniature Golf. We walked or took the boat to Disney Springs in the evening twice (dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express/shop/ice cream/entertainers), one evening was spent at the Boardwalk area to check out the performers and get some ice cream (or a meal). Another night we went to the Fort Wilderness for dinner at Trails End. We also took one afternoon (weather was not great for pool day) to check out Geyser Point Bar and Grill (lunch and a drink). We also went to check out the Polynesian one evening and had dinner at Kona.

Sounds like my kind of vacation!
