Over the last few years and on recent Disney Cruises we, like most of us, have been invited to member gatherings for a nice meet and greet and light sales pitch.

The SSR meetings used to include beer and wine and a fine assortment of finger foods. They even encouraged people to stay after the tour. We have also attended the Wednesday member gatherings at the Dance Studio on the Boardwalk, which were basically a once and done and a bit lame.

On-board the cruise ships much the same with gifts, games, etc.

Lately we feel that the pitch and format has changed. We feel rushed when the pitch is over. No beer or wine at SSR anymore. The atmosphere has become more of a "sales" feeling vs. the nice "Thanks" for being members and then the light pitch.

Anyone else feel the same?

If the event is being put on by DVD then you attended a sales pitch even if you didn't know it. They may have adjusted their business model to sell more and entertain less.

If you attended an event that didn't discuss buying like the WHW, beach bash, holiday party and mingles, then the event was put on by DVCMC using member dues to fund the event so they have a different feel.
