We stayed at SSR from 9/23-9/28 and had room 2825 over looking DTD and it was great.
the 1br that we had was flawless (except for 1 minor thing...more on that later). The cast members there are very friendly and the food at artist palatte was very good.
The gym is the best equipt of all the DVC resorts I've stayed at, they sure did spend some money on the equipment there. We didn't use the spa on this trip though.
This resort has the OKW feel and you gotta either drive to the parks or take the bus, which is o.k but its not as convenient as BWV.
I must say the staff there is very nice, I got more "Welcome Homes" than I care for (not a big fan of that whole "welcome home" thing..I aint "home" I'm on vacation..) Anyway when we checked in at 3 pm the room was ready and off we went.
The one minor flaw in this room is when wind hits the front door at 85-95 MPH the weather striping vibrates and sound like a bees nest. However hopefully that won't occur too often.
The hurricane did minor damge to the resort, mainly landscaping and some roof tilles. We had to stay in our room for about 20 hours because of the storm (this was on Sunday).. The lake at DTD had some pretty good waves on it!!!!
I must say the resort/wdw took care of us during and after the storm...since most of the DVD's were gone by late saturday nite, they played movies on 3 of the channels in our room, it was a nice touch for being confined to your room.
After the hurricane was down graded to a tropical storm, we could move about the property so we went and grabbed a bite to eat and at the resturant they had four charachters to sign autographs and to take pictures. I t must have been a relief to both parents and kids to finally be "free" from the storm.
All in all a very good trip.
