I just looked on the member website and the point calc. for june '05 Sun - Fri. was 485. 2-2bd rooms were only 360. I dont think I will be reserving a grand villa. Are all the GV that much more than getting a couple of 2bd. I have never really looked before because I have never had the need for a GV.

I Think at OKW, a GV has a lower points-cost than 2 2BRs.

Just one more reason that OKW is the best resort to own at.

Want to hear the funny part? Bwv GV is even more expensive than SSR.

I get 395 for a GV and 310 for a two bedroom for that time period. Maybe you might want to run over your points again. At any rate a grand villa should cost less than a 2 -two bedrooms, there is a mistake somewhere here, whether you use your figures or mine it does not make any sense. At OKW a GV for that time period costs 225 while 2 two bedrooms cost 270, that is the way it should be, more for the 2-2 bedrooms.

Yep, It's only at OKW where a GV costs fewer points than 2*2BRs (225 vs 270). At BWV a GV runs 440 vs 340 for 2*2BRs with comparable view  . Why is this? Bcs at BWV they can get it!

I am going to make a little leap here and try to answer this question. WDW and thus DVC is constantly playing with people's minds trying to control their actions. I would say that the reason it costs more for a GV then 2-two bedrooms at the newer DVC resorts is they want you to use the two bedrooms, they must have found that the GV at OKW were very popular but they did not want to build as many. They have more flexiblilty with the 2 bedrooms also. You can not split up a grand-villa and rent it out to different members like you can the other units. They are controling you through price. Most of the time they control people's actions through marketing and other ploys. Like I said at the start this is a little leap here.
