Hey all! I will be doing a solo trip to SSR in 3 weeks, and have never stayed there before. I know about the different sections, and think that I would like to request something in the Springs or Grandstand if available when I get there, but I do have a question. On older maps of the property, before it was all built up, the bridge to the PI/West End portion of DD was indicated as aopen. Now, the newer maps just show the walking path from Congress Park to the Marketplace end of DD, although they still show the bridge (just not marked as a way to get to DD). Is the bridge still a viable way to get to DD from the Carriage House and adjacent areas, or is it no longer open? I will not be driving, and will be relying on Disney transportation, but would like a walking option along with the boat to DD if possible! Thanks!!

Yup...the bridge is open...walked over it today, in fact! (We're staying at OKW, but SSR is my home resort, so I just "had to" go over and visit...the walkway between OKW & SSR is a lovely walk... I "detoured" over into DTD West Side while out (it was a great exercise walk)...and so went over "your" bridge this very day. So yes indeed it is open--

Great, glad to hear it! Now hopefully I can get a room in Grandstand or Springs to be close to it!

we walked over it in July, its a nice walk via the golf course and takes you right out at Cirque du Soleil, infact if you were going to the West Side I would go this way rather than via CP/ the Market Place. even if you ended up at CP and wanted to go to the west side it about the same walk going this way.
