If we stay at Congress, will it help much to walk over to the Springs to catch the bus? Where is the best place to catch the bus and more then likely get a seat?

My DD is coming with us for the first time next week and I want to make sure the view is nice for him. But.... we all know how nice it is to sit down on the bus before a long day at the parks.

This is our first time at SSR. We purchased last year site unscene.
We used to stay at PORS, and always got lucky with the outgoing busses.

Any suggestions? :confused3

We had no problem getting seats on the bus at the CP stop. We were there during Thanksgiving.

That's great news!
Hopefully it wont be that busy next week. I'm sure we will have a great time regardless.

Thanks for the reply.

CP picks up before the Springs.

IIRC the bus route is:

The Carousel
The Paddock
Congress Park
The Springs

We stayed in the Springs (last stop) during a busy time and never did not get on a bus and get a seat. Even with my fil's ECCV it was always fine. I was worried since it was a busy week but it was great. I think a lot of ppl that stay there rent cars or drive their own.

We stayed at SSR over New Years (12/29-1/3/07).
We were at the Springs (agree with the others that it was the last stop).
We were traveling with DD with a wheelchair. There was one time when people were already seated in the spots where wheelchairs/ECVs need to be loaded. They moved back and got seats further back in the bus. The one other time we could not board, we had been already waiting for the MK bus for about 1/2 hour (waiting under the roof of the shelter). Just as the bus pulled up, a party that included 2 young girls in power wheelchairs rolled up to board. Since there were 2 of them, we let them take that bus and waited for the next bus ourselves (since it was the last stop, there was a possibility that the next bus would already have one wheelchair or ECV on it - if it were us waiting for the bus, we could board, but the girls would have had to split up).

We have a 2br for the first part of our trip and 1br for the second.
Are there 2br overlooking DTD in CP? That's what we are shooting for, but who knows what will be avalible at checkin.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I am getting "too excited to sleep"!!

We stayed in a studio at Congress Park last month. It was our first trip "home". We had a great view of DTD too. I do think they have 2-bdrms with a view of DTD, so you might be lucky enough to get one.

As for the buses - we never had a problem getting on the bus at CP (and we had a ECV for my DH). Sometimes we even walked over to DTD and caught a bus to where ever. We were surprised we didn't have a problem there either (even with the ECV).

We did have one bus problem but that was from Epcot (to SSR) after Illuminations one night. It was horrible! Had to wait an hour before a bus finally showed up and he was there to pick up for either OKW or SSR (quote: "whichever resort had the most guests" and when I questioned him about that and told him we'd been waiting for about an hour, the driver actually said to me, "ain't my problem"; you better believe Disney folks heard about that from me!) :furious: He picked up the folks to OKW (there was a total of about 24 of us standing in line and about 1/2 were OKW). Two minutes after they pulled off another bus shows up going to SSR. DH & I were extremely miffed (and ended up getting sick).

But getting on a bus at CP - was never a problem. :)

Absolutely. We had a 2 BR lockoff with a fantastic view La Nouba and House of Blues last Oct.

Slow time of year when we went, so we never was in a crowded bus, never in a bus that was even half full. Which of course made the bus drivers very chatty with us since we were often the only people on the bus.

We were there over Thanksgiving last year and stayed at CP and didn't have any problems getting a seat on the bus. :) We did however think they could have used more park buses for the whole resort, especially with the size of the resort and the potential for tons of people needing transportation!!
