I would think all of the originally planned 12 buildings will be open by Dec 1.
7 buildings are now open. The first Paddocks building is to open yet this month. The 2nd Paddocks building is to open in July (but may actually open late June). The 3rd Paddocks building is to open in August. I assume the 4th and 5th buildings will open in Sept and Oct, or therabouts.
We were at the member update meeting at SSR last week and that is pretty much the schedule that they gave us for the Paddocks! Looks like it will be much busier there soon!
What do you guys think of the Saratoga resort? Do they have an onsite restaurant?.... My hubby just booked December 4-9 at Saratoga about an hour ago!... I have been hearing mixed reviews... our home resort is HH but we travel to Florida often.... I was planning to check out Saratoga.... so this will be our chance...
It is a food court/snack bar/restuarant all in one.
if you have food allergies - this is not a good place to eat. They don't have alot of control about the food.
if you don't have food allergies - most of the people that I talked to loved it.
unless you get in Springs - everything is pretty far from the CH where the main stuff is located. Don't try to walk it - just take one of the buses - they stop at the Springs on their way out to the parks.
The groups of buildings are The Springs (14), The Paddock (15), and Congress Park (16). There is one more set scheduled ot eb built (don't know the name).
Peopl have posted the map, so a search may help you see what's where.
It all depends on where you want to be. Close to the quiet pool, the theme pool, possible DTD view, closer to the path to DTD. I think each area has its advantages. Enjoy!
I have requested (room's) in the springs for our december visit. we stayed in Congress Park last October. I'm a pooh sized grandma and I didn't have any problem walking back and forth from the main area to my room. Of course we were in the building closet to the main area. We never ate at Artist Palette except for the occasional Mickey bar, but for some reason thay just don't taste the same as the one's in the park . Susan
There are 3 buildings that comprise The Springs area at the resort. These are located across the street from the High Rock Springs pool.
There are four buildings in the Congress Park area. These all sit on the lake across from DD and most of the villas have a view of DD. Congress Park is located about 200-400 yards from the High Rock Springs pool. The walkway to DD begins in this area and is about a 10 minute walk to the Marketplace area of DD.
There are five buildings in The Paddock area of the resort. They all sit on a small lake (no DD view) and will also be about 200-400 yards from the High Rock Springs pool. You can cross the lake using a bridge/walkway, walk around the lake or take the bus.
In spite of the concerns that the resort is spread out, it is actually fairly compact in it's layout. All of the first 12 buildings are within comfortable walking distance to the main pool area (and all will have a neighborhood pool even closer). In addition, the buses all provide transportation to the main pool area at the resort. Any bus will take you to that area before leaving the resort.
I'd just make any requests based on what your preferences may be. If you want to have a view of DD, request a room in the Congress Park area. If you want to be as close as possible to the main pool- request The Springs area. All buildings have elevators and all buildings have non-smoking rooms available.
